is there anything i need to worry about while switching out the hu no my impala from the factory to my cd player? i am not sure i can ****ing anything up...if u can help me asap

you may need an adapter I know some of the newer GMs have what they call a data buss

what exactly is that? just a regular wiring harness?.....or something different.....i just dont want to try it and **** something up electrical.

you need like a $100 part Im not quite sure what all it controls but I know it has something to do with the chimes

all depends on what you have. do u have a stock upgraded system like bose or monsoon or 1 of a few hundred others. do you have onstar. blah blah blha. if it is a bare bones bottom of the line stock system you should be fine. check it out on metra online. it should be able to help you out.

well i have the metra kit....just not sure on the Wire harness....no onstar etc.

ok i have the kit for the install....just really lost on the harness lol.....what all would i need lol......how much would it cost to take it to a shop against me just gettting the parts and doing it myself....on there list it says i have standard sound...def. no bose...but there is a mini amp to the factory speakers.

well i know the harness you would need at ccity is about 150 plus the labor charge of 55 so for the most part at custom shops you are probably lookin at anywere from 130 to 200
