Default Double Din help

Looking for the best double din receiver i guess jvc or pioneer is what i hear are the best bang for the buck. any suggestions? im liking the pioneer 4400bh but its a little pricey. I prefer high voltage rca as i dont run a line driver.

Id spend the little bit extra and get the Pioneer unit. I have the 8400Bh and 2300 and they are nice units.

I don't think you could really go wrong with any of the pioneer double dins. I picked up a 1400 for $300 and for the price I'm very impressed.

Thanks Derek, could you be any more specific on impressed? Does that unit have many less features that the 4400? The biggest thing i noticed was the high volt rca on the 4400 which is a must for me.

I'd get a pioneer with 4v preouts and navigation. Whichever one fits your budget will work but be prepared to spend like $400 lol. The HU is definitely a place where you want to spend a little extra to get something nice.

the main differences on them from what i know is the 4400 has bluetooth and a 7" screen where as the 1400 is only a 5.8" with no bluetooth and it doesnt have the high volt rcas. the 1400 is pretty much just a basic double din with usb and aux. I just wanted a simple double din that looked good, but if you want the 4v rcas the 4400 would be a better choice.

Other than screen size, the other differences are bluetooth, high volt pre outs, hd radio tuner, etc.
Features and functions otherwise are the same for the most part. Except on the 8400, it has dual usb inputs and a sd card input. which is nice for having multiple flash drives or ipods hooked up (whichever combination you desire (USB inputs).
Another big plus on the Pioneers vs. the JVC units is the EQ. The JVC (unless you get the nav units) have only a 3 band EQ vs. the Pioneers 8 band.

I have a AVH-P4200DVD that I'd let go reasonably. Great shape and a very reliable unit for me.
