Default Getting a mixed input signal

Pioneer AVH-p6600DVD head unit.

I am getting a mixed input signal when I use the AV input on the radio. The right is mixing with the left signal. When I only plug in the right av jack, I get sound from the right and left (weak in the left). When I only plug in the left jack, I get a very weak sound out of both speakers. When both are plugged in, I get strong, perfect sound out of the right, weak out of the left.

I have NOT tried the radio or CD/DVD yet...Not sure why I didnt before tearing everything apart....feeling kind of stoopid. If the problem went away, it would tell me the problem was the signal input, or somewhere on the signal leaving the radio.....

I am using the amp RCA outputs for the front and rear speakers, I am NOT using the built-in amplification. The problem I am experiencing is NOT with the amp. I have some more experimenting to do, but from what I have gathered so far, the problem is in the head unit. I do not have any problems with my audio input, I have ruled out such simple problems.

I took apart the "kick panel" brain, which is where the AV jacks are located, and found no problems internally. The box just basically acts as a pass-through, there arent any components inside relating to the audio. It goes from the RCA jacks and puts them into about a 20 pin cable that goes to the head unit. no shorts or problems here.

I am going to test all my RCA cables tomorrow, but the problem doesnt come and co, crackle or anything, so I doubt it is a problem with a cable. But, I will be testing all of that tomorrow. I have not totally ruled out that. But, when I start playing with the fader, things start to behave very strangely.

I was hoping someone knew of things to look for internally, related to the head unit. I have it ripped apart, and will begin to trace out signal paths tomorrow on the PCB.

I was unsure if RCA outputs also ran through the stock amplification chip? I have had amp chips burn out in the past, and the RCA outputs also quit working on the head unit. (thought that I could just run amps off the pre-outs and piss on the built in amplification, but it didnt work on past radios)
If that was the case, it is concievable that something in the amplifier chip has burned out/shorted. Because whatever the issue is, it is behaving like a Wire is crossed or shorted somewhere.

So, if I cant fix the problem, maybe I can ignore it.
Could I conceivably use the "rear" outputs for the front speakers, and just not use the front outputs? Or are the front and rear Speaker outputs different, other than how the fader will handle them obviously. I know *most* older radios would give the same signal to all 4 corners. This is, of course, assuming that the problem lies in the Front output and is not affecting the rear output. It also wont work if it is the signal input that is the problem. If the radio/DVD work fine, I will know that it is the AV input. If that is the case, I guess I wont have any more headphone jack input. Unless, I can tie the input in cleanly to the DVD/CD audio signal on the board. But that wouldnt be an easy task.

I dont want to get a new head unit, I have the navi add-on for this unit as well, I dont really want to drop 1200 bucks on a similar setup.

Ebay has nothing in terms of this model laying around in a used fashion.....otherwise, that would be my attack route and just start replacing things until I achieved success.
