Default turn on pop

ok ive troubleshooted my situation and my noise is all from the headunit. nearly everytime i press a button on my HU it pops. even if i use the remote. i can however disconnect and reconnect my remote leade with no pop and everything on. i had seen a thread where they grounded the outer shield of the rcas to the chassis or something. cant seem to find it help would be appreciated. only is audible on subs HU is sony XPLODER gt700hd (i know i know but its what i got) the sub leads are wired out from the HU should i try switching to my rear channel or will that defeat the purpose of a sub control? what should i do ROE? my plan tomorrow/later today is to get rid of it just put old infinity 4"s in the dash and they sound great want to do more tomorrow. if it doesnt rain

yea so maybe some 16ga Speaker Wire soldered to shield and chassis?

Reground the HU (not to stock radio harness) and solder the speaker wire to the shield and chassis... Two easy things you can try

I'm confused about the pop noise?... Yes you probably could ground the RCA's to stop the noise. Using the rear channel would ruin the purpose of the sub channel. If the Rca's need to be grounded, it would probably do the same noise in all of te channel's.

well ive already got it grounded out to a chassis factory ground up in my dash so i think i may try grounding out the shield im thinking my subs rca leads may have become damaged at some point in time.

Run your ground somewhere else. Also try running a ground strap to the chassis of the radio. If all else fails, run a ground wire from the outer jacket on both of your RCA's (this is usually easiest to do at the amp). Everything points to a weak ground at the deck.
