Ok, let me first say, Pioneer manuals are as vague as f***. Im recieving my 80prs tuesday,
I plan to run front L/R, Rear L/R, SW and want the processor on, So, what is confusing me is the fact the HU has a HI/LO input switch of its own ans comes with a line level to RCA converter. Is this HU not capable of running Speaker level to the speakers and RCA to the SW amp? What is going on with this? Basicly I ask: If I want to use speaker level to speakers do I have to use a converter for the sw amp or can I run an RCA to it? Also, if I want it to use its processor do I put the dsp switch to standard or network in this application?

Re: 80prs install help
Are you asking if it has an internal amp?? If you are going to utilize the network than you would be turning off any internal amplification.. In other words using the decks internal amp makes your purchase redundant...

No, I DO want to use internal amp; so, I leave it in standard? The big question however was, Can it run a mix of rca/sp level between the speakers(being at Speaker level) and the subwoofer(being low input/preout) or do I have to use the supplied output converter and convert the sw speaker lead to RCA for the SW amp? Im not clear on this because the HU has a toggle for HI/LO level input, so I'm lead to believe the HU can only use one or the other but not both (IE speaker leads to doors, and RCA to SW amp.

Re: 80prs install help
Dont know what you mean by "supplied line out convertor", mine did't come with one. And yes you should be able to utilize sub out with high level speaker out... I'm still confused by your concern though, you say you do'nt want to use the internal amp but want to use a mix of speaker out and low level out??

the pioneermanual sais it comes with the mich and a line output converter and indicates it in one of the digrams in the install manual, if it is possible to mix both outputs, could you explain the HI/LO input switch on the HU, it's a physical switch and I'm not understanding why it is there.
It was ordered from pioneer by a stereo shop. WHY you may ask? I got it for 200 dollars off msrp as part of a deal.
yes it says it can play internal amp and external amp connected to sub amp. in standard mode. it was in the installation section
Ok, thats what i was looking for, NOW, when doing this, should input switch on the HU be toggled to HI or LO?
I know the guy above me just said this, but he just discovered that switch (no offense).
That's all Ill need to know if you can confirm for sure.
