Default Pioneer DVD-4400 Crackling

When playing my music, there is a sort of crackling/popping sound going on at random times. Sometimes it's bad sometimes I don't notice it. What do you think it could be?

It can be many things. Check for loose/dirty connections on all wires at the back of the head unit and at your speakers. If you are using an amp, check all wiring there as well. RCA's could be the culprit as well. Does it only do it on certain songs or volume?

No it's constant. Not like constantly making the sound, but I've heard it happen on many volumes and all songs. I was thinking that it could be an RCA or some sort of connection. The sound has been happening since I got the truck which came with the hu and speakers.

If you plan on doing any type of system, you need to totally disassemble the system and start over.. Never trust someone else's work....

I'm taking it apart piece by piece, he had the two 12s wired together with Power Wire fricken duct taped to the terminals, I'm fixing that today... Imma look at the head unit today too. I'm keeping the hu though because I like it and its 400$... Selling the twelves though.

Yeah do what sri said and go through everything. I had water damage in a friends doors cause it to make crackling noises before so check that as well.
