Welcome mang. You came to the right place. Don't be afraid to ask questions as there are world record SPL holders on here and guys who have been into Car audio for well over 20 years and more.

I work in orange and there is a jo-dis around the corner and i didn't like the way i was treated there. i got a new amp and wanted it tuned to a specific wattage and he didn't give a heck(for lack of a better word) what i had asked for. i picked up my jeep and and asked what he set the power and FQ and got the responce "i just turned it up until it was loud" and on top of that he replaced my rca's when there was nothing wrong with them, they were band new and cost me $35 and the set he installed was a cheep set of rca's, and charged me for all of it. never going back there.

Ooh, I bet he took your RCA's because they were exactly want he wanted for his own install. Go back and see if they aren't installed in his own car or in his shop for sale.

i went there cause i spent more than i had planned for my amp that i wanted tuned right cause i blew my last amp due to my lack of knowledge on tuning amps. he said it would cost $30 and ended up trying to charge me $55, i told him to go bleep himself put $30 on the table and walked out.

it might have been just that one guy there that worked on my stuff, i know they have people who know what they are doing. so im not trying to bash them, he just gave the rest of the guys a bad name.

the LI's are great subs, they pound hard and hit some good lows, and you can run them a good deal over the rms rating. it was very stiff when i first got it but after 2 months they started to loosen up and they just kept getting louder and louder as the days go by.

its actually is easier than you would think to tune an amp. it takes only 10-15 minutes to do.

no need for the oscilloscope, a 30Hz test tone with work just as good a the oscilloscope.

30 hz tone is pretty low, i use a 50 hz tone. A o-scope would be nice tho. Let me know if you ever figure out how to calibrate that thing
