Welcome, talk to Fallen or KingPen for some great designs... I do a little tinkering but so far my designs just look great on paper as I haven't had time to do them in person.

Shops rarely Build it to the specific sub. Most just have a generic layout for your space constraints and a 40htz tuning. Honestly We can't really say how much you should pay and building it yourself could be cheaper or more expensive depending on the quality of materials but you would at least have the pride to know you did it yourself. What 12?

It's an SA. I'm sure someone on here has a box for an SA, in fact Burke is running a single SA iirc. Even if you need something custom there's plenty on here that would do it. If you build it yourself, which is pretty easy and only needs basic tools, it shouldn't cost more than $50 tops. Also welcome to the forums

Yea one SA should be plenty. Post up your max dimensions and someone should be able to work one out for you. It doesn't take long to make either and doesn't need to be done all in one shot. If you could find time to cut all the wood up, or have it done at the store, you can glue it together piece by piece over a few days.

Ok got this from another forum

Height from floor to the bottom of the speakers is 18 inches. Width from inner wheel well to inner wheel well was 36 inches. Width from side to side before inner wheel wells was 64. Depth from front to the top part of the rear seat was 44 inches.

True that. According to someone on CobaltSS.net my trunk is about 2 cubes bigger than it really is. I think the height measurement was about 8" off if I remember correctly.

Do you want a wide but shallow and short box? That is what I'd to to save trunk space

you could build it yourself if you got a circular saw thats free shipping and no labor costs

imo its not worth purchasing a basic plane jane ported box and having it shipped. shipping will be over 30 labor around 80-100. building it yourself would be 30 for wood. 5 for glue + 2-3 hours of your own time

Circular, measuring tape and something cheap to cut out the hole like a jig saw.

I mean I have a little side business building boxes and 99% of what I do is done with a circular saw, saw horses, drill, and router. A router is a lot easier to make the cutouts than a jig saw but my first box I ever built (which part of it is still in my car, ripped it apart to make a 1 cube ported.) was a 3 cube 4th order completely cut with a jig saw and my holes were drilled with screws slowly going bigger and bigger until I could fit my jig saw blade in the hole to make the sub holes.

It is all about patience man. Not so hard once you start and get used to the tools.
