Default Song to demo for parents/grandparents?

Often times, my parents or even grandparents want to listen to new systems i spend weeks installing, but they hate the rap and majority of the popular rock we all listen to. They hate the thumping and booming and trunk rattling that come along with systems, as do I. Its hard to break the stereotype that systems and subwoofers have, with noise pollution and all that. I want to try to give subwoofers back their good name, if i can demo it and impress older people with what a real "system" is made of.

So, now that i got that out of the way, does anyone know of any songs that are older, that adults in their 40's and up would enjoy, while demonstrating the dynamics of my substage as well as highs?

a lot of old rock has good kickdrum bass to it and if your system has decent sound quality to it you can play something like that and wow your parents... I played some josh pyke, ryan farish, blue october, and john legend for my parents and after that they really got behind me and my hobby... and by got behind i mean stopped yelling at me whenever a heavy package appeared at our door with my name on it...

I couldn't have said that any better. I to, often find that I am getting folks that do not enjoy the music that we often consider "the loud stuff". Some want to hear how loud my system is bass wise, while others want to hear the quality. It is rather hard to pick music to play for people in either of those situations.

The sound quality is a little easier to show in terms of what to play. Pick pretty much any popular classic rock (what was popular back then, not popular classic rock now) and you are good to go.

Yes, I will probably just download.... ahem I mean buy some older stuff that was popular back in the 80s/70s/60s and try different stuff out until I find something I like.

eagles are a good choice.

alot of guys in there mid 40's like shinedown. Obviously your going to want to go with a more melodic song of theirs for demoing for all ages.

you really need to talk to them, ask them what music they like and find something that showcase's your setup well.

All in the name of rock and roll by Motley Crue

Some Pink Floyd like Money or Time. Speak to me/Breathe has big thumping heartbeats in the beginning.
