Re: Computer Thread
i know exactly what you're dealin with. dat router be le answer.

Re: Computer Thread
Plus, we frequently have issues where we get disconnected from the router. Other times it will say we are connected but we can't get anything to load. I'm not sure if that's an issues with the router or ISP.

Also, just as of yesterday some images haven't been loading. I thought it was just me but my roommate just complained about it too. Hopefully a new router fixes these problems lol

Re: Computer Thread
Yup 5ghx or wired is where its at. Its worth the 15% signal loss no doubt

Burkem_10 03-26-2013 07:27 PM

Re: Computer Thread
So, it sounds like those issues are from the router and not the ISP?

Perhaps the modem we rent?

what modem is it?

the way i trouble shoot stuff like this is using a program that analyzes the modems reports. unfortunately i can't do that with yours. i can walk you through checking your signal on the modem though.

Re: Computer Thread
weird. never seen one of those before.

looks fairly new.

i can figure out what it is but it'll take a little research. if that router doesn't fix it i'll look er up.

Re: Computer Thread
well im doing a submerged pc build. i started to buy the parts today.

heres the radiator im going to be using.

i had to cut the 2 inlets off and put some good ol hose hookups.

heres after unsoldering the inlets

the heater core was set in a bucket of bold water to prevent the torch from unsoldering anything else but the inlets.

and heres the new connections soldered inplace.

i also got some clear hose and a pump , but that is gay stuff so no pics =P

and heres the most expensive part :\

5 gallons of mineral oil

profundus-sanus 04-14-2013 07:46 PM

Re: Computer Thread
whats the rad for if the whole pc is going under oil?

Darkmage1991 04-14-2013 07:52 PM

Re: Computer Thread
you need to cool the oil =P if after about 4 hours or so that oil would heat up ;)

Re: Computer Thread
Cleaned my case out today and threw in the 4 free hard drives I got from work. I dont have enough SATA ports, so im going to need to pick up a card. Anyone have any suggestions for a basic but reliable 4 port card? Dont plan on raiding these, so i dont need anything too fancy

Also got bored and flipped 2 of my 27's portrait. Didn't like it at first but facebook and forums are awesome on them haha.

Potentially reposted specs of my PC:

i7 3770k
gigabyte z77 up5 th
galaxy gtx680 gc 4gb
32gb vengeance ram
2x vertex 4 RAID0 primary drive
multiple random secondary...
CM HAF 912 with all fans
CM 212 evo cooler push pull
3x 27" acer monitors. nothing special, but lots of real estate
AX850 psu

i think thats it. a few fancy things like front hotswap hdd bays and blank drawers

Oh and...
:) :) :)

EDIT: my 3 TB drive is 152 153.. could it be the drive is 96% full? I thought ssds didn't lose performance being close to full.

EDIT EDIT:.. I need to check what my mobo is.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: My mobo is SATA I... FML.. lol

profundus-sanus 04-23-2013 06:25 AM

Re: Computer Thread
