sounds like fun.

but holy piss a 2000$ cpu? lol

dual cpu mobo and 2 1000$ cpus woulda been nasty too. although idk if hackintosh can handle that.

like 2 of these

holy poo blurays take up some space, haha

edit: to clarify, i was looking at renting blu-rays then ripping them to my pc. 3tb would only hold about 100 blurays.... ima need some more storage space

Re: Computer Thread

Yeah hackintoshes can handle dual CPU builds but it's not something I'm familiar with so I opted out. He is upgrading from his 2008 mac pro which he dropped several grand on (like $7,000 maybe) and this computer will be wayyy faster.

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

wewt

gettin this htpc thing going.

got auto rip n compress going to rip dvds and blurays to mkv's directly from windows media center and loads them directly to media centers library. then i can use gmote. So basically i'm going to load all my movies on my computer then just switch to my pc input on the tv and access all of them.

still trying to figure out 3d, but i think thats going to be a bridge best cross when the tv arrives.

u could always compress the sound on the blu ray rip, the sound file is what takes the hug space up as its raw uncompressed audio. if u compress it to something else but keep good quality imo it would be fine, the audio would sound like a dvd but the video would be hd obviously

it sounds like using compress to mkv keeps the audio/video quality but cuts out all the special features, which keeps the size down. don't wanna actually degrade anything.

newegg pissed me off today...

its been 11 business days since i bought my case fans and my tracking number still reads invalid. i sent them an email wednesday, just got a response today. They said they'll file a shipping claim on my behalf and it will be 7-10 days before they make a determination.

i replied said i just want my fans, i don't have a tracking number and i want one so i know my fans are on the way.

they reply saying you should hear within 7-10 days then your fans may be shipped after that.

at that point i got pissed

"so i could be waiting up to 21 business days from purchase before my items are even shipped?

at my job if we miss an apointment we credit that customers bill an ammount and schedule another appt that day or the next day at the latest.

we don't make them wait 7-10 days after the missed appointment to schedule a new one.

so if i don't have a valid tracking number or a refund plus compensation by the end of the day tomorrow i'll be filing a paypal claim."

The money is in my account plus a 5$ newegg gift card was promised to be in my email tomorrow. Fans reordered from amazon and i was waiting on this to pan out to order my bluray drive...that is now coming from tiger direct.

Kinda upset as now i have to deal with them again as my bluetooth isn't working right.

Newegg is slacking. my friend bought a PSU monday. took 2 3 days to process it and it be here tomorrow....99.9% of the time you order something from newegg its at your door in 2-4 days.

Yeah I've had a lot of good experiences with newegg.

Darkmage1991 12-02-2012 06:12 PM

Re: Computer Thread

they may be playing catch up from cybermonday and black friday. not including the storm that hit there warehouses from sandy. so hopefully its just temp. either way newwgg is still my #1 place to shop for my comp parts. micro center is a lil cheaper on alot of stuff but i know newegg took care of me so ill continue with them until they screw me.

im done with audiosavings due to there return policy, same bs there. sonic/woofersetc has me now for audio

farcry 3 looks so good...

tempted to pick it up.....................................

Fallen 12-04-2012 12:31 PM

Got my SSD installed wooooooooooooooooooooooooo
intel's data migration tool makes it a breeze.

That's terrible C/S
At that point it would probably be worth while to just order fans from a different company (tigerdirect maybe) and refuse the shipment from newegg (if it ever comes) (and in a somewhat douchebag move, get your CC company to initiate a chargeback)

I liked my scythe fans. Super quiet too

Re: Computer Thread

get the highest cfm fans within your preferred dba range. i went with 74 cfm fans. they move some air. and only 15dba. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835226042

they may be a lil louder than what they claim but still fairly quiet.

yikes. If you weren't paying close attention you would have had a smoke machine lol. I assume you are just pressing enter to select the multiplier? Anyway you can just use arrow keys without actually bringing up the dropdown selector?

lol i know right? but i think i fixed it. it seems to show like normal. i turned around and reflashed the bios. it actually changes like normal lol. i got no idea what happened? maybe the bios kept some of the athlons crap in its memory?

and yea i used enter to select. i can use the mouse to select also but its jittery and i feel like i can easily misclick something.
