Re: Computer Thread
I liked the vid pro, it was very informative. I ran the intel burn test last night and my cpu got up to 89C. After seeing this vid I may need to redo my thermal paste that noob me did last year. A better CPU cooler might be a good idea too lol.

Re: Computer Thread
yeah when I built my computer i was between the ivy bridge and sandy bridge a little but just seemed the ivy bridge had to many problems at the time and the sandy bridge 2600K was pretty much best bang for the buck so I went with that, now seeing its possible to make the ivy bridge a solid CPU im kicking myself because my computer dont support 2133 ram or pci 3.0 for the new video cards.

be careful if your pulling the heat spreader off the cpu though, make sure to keep the blade angled towards the heat spreader, as if you scratch the actual cpu pcb you could kill it. |

Re: Computer Thread
im pretty happy with my 2600K though right now i got 3 issues, need better video card cant run bf3 n ultra, i am running 2 evga gtx260 superclocks in sli but that just dont cut it. need a pair of 580s or 3 580s haha. ssd is running out of space down to around 8gb free might have to get a second one around 60gb or so just to run the OS on and then all my software on my 120. and my third problem is for some reason sometimes when I plug in a thumb drive it dont always reconize it. and it detects my dvd rom on and off IDK if those 2 problems are linked maybe the thumb drive is just bad or my dvd rom is going bad. still need to do some troubleshooting on that.
motherboards need to come with more sata ports also. my tower holds 8 hard drives my motherboard only has 5 or 6 sata ports. and after doing a front panel e sata and sata dvd rom that just leaves me with a couple for hard drives. I bought a CHEAP sata PCI card and the computer will not even get to BIOS with it plugged in LOL MIGHT go with a PCI E ssd for my OS see how money goes |
Re: Computer Thread
[Official] Delidded Ivy Bridge Club
if you decide to do it burke thats a good bit of info there. sounds like coollabritory liquid ultra is the tim to use ONLY between the cpu and heat spreader. . between your cpu cooler and heat spreader i would use somethimg more reasonable as the liquid ultra requires being scraped/sanded off. |

Re: Computer Thread
ordering some goodies thursday :) on the fence about buying a more expensive mobo.
3570k, 3tb seagate, edit: changed to nzxt hale82 psu. trying to decide betwen an asrock z77 oc formula or just getting an extreme6 |
Re: Computer Thread
The oc is obviously a better board to over clock with... 6 phase pwm vs 4 on the extreme 6. But I wouldn't spend no extra 60$ just to get 300mhz out of the CPU: P

Re: Computer Thread

Newegg.com - EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750B BRONZE 120-PB-0750-KR 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply for a motherboard I love what the asus sabortooth series offers but may be out of your price range |

Input Current6A @ 115V --->690VA 3A @ 230V---->690VA Hmm a 300% efficient PSU? sign me up. At 100% efficient, the most you'll get with a 15A breaker is 1800W. Any psu claiming more than that is suspect. Unless you run 240 to it, or have greater than 15A service to that outlet. |
Re: Computer Thread
Lol I wouldn't doubt its trash,was just been a smart ass :P

honestly i'd be surprised if they performed better in gaming, especially with the mobo limitations. heavily threaded stuff you'd prolly have a monster though. so, i updated the bios on my mobo as it still had the 1.0 bios and there on like 1.6. Went smoothly. Seeing much better gaming performance. gained about 10-15 fps in most games. Was something to do with the original bios wasn't determining pcie speed right when 2 cards were in place or something. Moved everything over to my new case too. Ordered mah fans from amazon and got them next day, when i got the 5-7 day shipping. I'm going to order all my computer stuff from amazon when i can from now on. |
Re: Computer Thread
i dont know jack ishnit about pcs, but i do know amazon is the bees knees. my gf gots dat prime and it is worth every penny

Re: Computer Thread

Re: Computer Thread
thought about getting prime.

Re: Computer Thread
