bassnut ThNKA BUT WHAT ARE THE ucsaci LIMMITS ON BATTERIES? i DO HAVE A MODIFIED STOCXK UPPED TO 175 AMPS AND 15.5 VOLTS but I have thougt about the caps thank you

Okbadboy Your best bet will probably be to run about 5+ farads of boost. Adding another battery only puts more strain on your alternator. If you were dropping below 14.3 volts, i would add another alternator and then run an additional battery. Your alt amps to battery amps ratio should be at least 1:5 or 20% or greater at idle.

bassnut not sur what you meanby the big 3 I was down to 14.4 @ rear batterry when peaking
04-13-2009 10:29 PM

04-13-2009 10:28 PM
v6f150 I remeber those amps but ant they were good . my question is you said you tested the fron battery and never whent bellow 14.7 but what did your rear batter read at when at full tilt

bassnut thnaks I appreciate your input ,again these are y2006 pca2000ds classd mono amps sounsdtream under the old picasso series with a 2.5:1 power ratio I hVE THE BOX WITH DATE OF MANFACTURE AND s/n on

profundus-sanus if your only dropping to 14.7 then you don't need another battery.

although i'm surprised that electrical is holding up that strong against that much power.. assuming those amps are 2kw @ 1 ohm(never heard of that soundstream model)

bassnut no I have had no dimming of lights even during high bass transeints ,but this sales guy /installer was trying to get me to buy nother 24000 HCA kenitic battery as it stands now I am running 1 optima group 31 m 1125 amp battery under the hood and one kenitic hac 200 ampbattery in rear hatch space but the sales guy was trying to tellme to hit my maximum potential I needed one more hca 240 amp battery and just wondering if I really did and @ one tine we did check the voltage of the main battery lead under hod and @ peak I was down to 14.7 volts

03protege The 15.5 volt alt on 12 volt battery's kind of scares me.

But are you experiencing dimming lights real bad? have you put a DMM on your rear battery while it was jamming to see what it was dropping to?

More than enough electrical is never a bad idea in my book. Buying 1 more battery now is def cheaper than buying 1 more battery and 2 amps later (if you even need it of course)
