Removed aluminum trim pieces to allow more air flow across cooling fins.

Cleaned up the back and flipped the box around so it's now loading off the passenger side. Much happier with it now, it had been effin with my OCD, lol.

Yeah, rebadged APSM-2K. Stock alt is 100 amp. Definitely not themost efficient, but it does get the job done for $100 amp. You have to also remember I have 3 1980's Class A amps running my highs. I'm sure they are pullin some juice as well.

that amp must be power hungry...did you say in the video you have a stock wet cell up front and 1 55ah and a 75ah in back?....and what amp is your alt?.....edit...so its a rebadged apsm2k.....i had the apsm 1.5k installed in my car and it was not very effiecent....the 1.5k i had blew multiple 100 amp fuses with 1/8th gain around 800 watts

Replaced the batt terminals under the hood.

Grounds in the back. The one going thru the floorboard connects to the frame underneath.

Batt installed.

And, the box back in. Port is firing at the batt, thinking of putting a loading wall in front of the batt.

I love it. Best $100 I ever spent on an amp. Aside from getting a little hot, which I've fixed by installing the fans, it has performed above any expectations I had. Sounds great and does what I need it to. Would like to add another batt though. Dropping into the mid 11's with only 1 55ah in the back. With the box the way it is now I have room on the side for a 100ah AGM, this will be my next move.

Well, guess this is it for the build log until I get another batt and a better amp. Very happy with the outcome of this build, especially for the price. This is a budget build believe it or not. Around $500.

Took it out and beat on it for about 45 mins, amp is way cooler than it would have been before the fans.

Pedro came thru and helped me install the fans for my Shark. Now I have a wind tunnel behind my box. These are the fans he gave me all the way back when I had the Crunch GP3K. Didn't get a chance to use them before it blew. Thanks Pedro!

Whoot! No B-stock designation on the box like the other one. Seems they sent me a new A-stock replacement. Sundown just earned a customer for life.

You can see the difference in the glue joint and the fact that the new one has screws holding the spider down as well as heat shrink on the leads.

Nice build so far. It's too bad you got a bum X-12, I've been loving mine! It really gets moving once the subwoofer is broken in too.

So, Sundown's customer service lives up to its excellent reputation. Jacob got back to me within a matter of hours and I will be sending the sub back for repair or replacement. Most likely just needs a recone from what I can tell. So, happy it will be fixed, sad I won't be playing for the show Sat.

At first, I thought that was it. That a lead had just broke off the terminal. Was going to solder it back and call it a day.

Upon further investigation I found out why and the source of the sound.

The spider has separated from the landing ALL the way around. Seeing about shipping it back. Sucks, was really looking forward to this Sat.

Well, FML!

Wondered what was making that noise all the way back when I first hooked it up to the PC and shot that vid. Now I know. I was making the noise today, just WAY louder.
