Fixxer Theft isn't too big of an issue here, plus the box should weigh a fair amount and will be bolted in. If they are gonna get it, they are gonna get it. Doesn't really matter what you do.
08-19-2006 07:34 PM
Impulse_AK if it was my system I wouldnt mount the amps on the box for multiple reasons, like theifs getting everything all at once when they break in, buts its your system you design it how you like it.
08-19-2006 07:26 PM
Fixxer Prolly carpet it and make a little wider board on the back to mount the amps or something.. I'll let them worry about that.

Impulse_AK No problem, its a Saturday night and I have nothing else to do
08-19-2006 07:20 PM
Fixxer Thanks for your help

Impulse_AK sorry I forgot about the port length lol... its 11.74 long inches to give you 33hz, and I already did all the calculating and measuring it doesnt need to be bent, less resistance more airflow and SPL

Fixxer

Can you give me an inside view?

I need to know how long to make the port boards and which way to bend them..

Impulse_AK kinda small..... but it works, save it and zoom in if you need to see it better

Impulse_AK oh I see, I thought you wanted a Square port.....you want a rectangular one, just in the middle, let me see....

Edit: Ok ignore other posts, Length 30.00, Width 16.00, Depth 19.63, Port 11 x 2.5in 27.5c cubic inches of port, port should be about the same size as subs diameter
08-19-2006 06:00 PM
Fixxer Is it gonna look similar to this? If not could you make the port bigger?

08-19-2006 05:53 PM
Impulse_AK ok I came up with.....4cf internal airspace tuned to 33hz, Lenght 30.69, Width 16.00, Depth 19.21, Port right in between subs a Square 5.2 X 5.2 12.59 Inches long giving you about 27 square inches of port, the design would actually look really nice if you carpet it and you should have about 1 inch of space away from the port from each side, all using 1 inch MDF

Edit: ummm keep all dimensions except box Length because im not too sure about the subs exact outer diameter with the gasket on... so I changed it to, Length 35.00in, Width 16.00, and Depth 16.96in.... basically 17.00 in, with same port

Fixxer The box for my brahma is 41 1/2" wide ---- 16" Tall ---- 2 ft deep thats including the space in the back for the amps.

41 1/2" is max width because there are wheel wells further out.

Just roughly in ED's enclosure calculator I came up with 41x16x15.5 tuned to 32hz is about 4.101 cF
08-19-2006 05:09 PM
Impulse_AK ok give me a few minutes, got any specific L X W X H dimensions???
08-19-2006 05:03 PM
Fixxer ok.. Just design something that would sound great and tuned low for daily driving. Again with a square port in the middle of the 2 10's.
08-19-2006 04:55 PM
Impulse_AK ummm....I can give you the box design but you must add the slope to the back of the box....simple you just need a MDF peice of wood cut it to mount flush with the back of the box, the sides and the bottom.....it'll take me longer to design one with the slope adding to internal airspace and trying to explain the dimemnsions...
08-19-2006 04:47 PM
Fixxer Subs firing back with the port in the middle... 30-32hz, wedge style with the back slopped for the amp rack/tub made with 1" mdf.. bout 4^ft total after displacement.... would that be good for a daily driver?
08-19-2006 04:18 PM
Impulse_AK port up with subs up??? or port back with subs back??? give me some more info and also what hz do you prefer??

Box for 2 10" 3510D's

Could someone with leet box building skills blue print me up a 4^ft common chamber with a square port in the center tuned to 32hz.. The box design needs to be a wedge type with the back sloped to I can use it as an amp rack. This will be going into a 92 ford explorer. It will also be made out of 1" MDF and probably carpeted.

Amp rack will be similar to this, like a tub:
