Re: what do u think??

hey whatever Floats your boat man, I just see you getting better stuff in the
future, We all started somewhere, And for most of us it wasnt even as good
as 4 sony xplods and 2 amps. And for the Prorting, just build a box in general ported specifications, those subs will be fine in any normal ported box.
What I would do is try to Fire them to the rear of the car facing the back of the
trunk within 8'' to 12'' inches from it. If you built that box you can build another.
Keep it up and Brush off the haters.

well i think if your happy with your setup then go for it, whoo =)
i want to see some vids or pics of the competition when you go.. i met alot of people who would just go to competitions to just see what they were hitting, not nessacerily(spelling?!) going for the competitions..good luck and have fun =)

im not going to full on compete its just going to be this one comp im really going to see how loud it really is but if i do well i will honestly crap my pants cause i dont think im in the 140s yet

Re: what do u think??

i want to port my box but i cant find a definate length of the port all the calculators i have used dont give a straight answer between them i have posted all my box dimensions and parameters of the subs on anoter thread. i found out the port diameter and the tuning freq but i havent got the length down right i think it will be around 12inches long but im not sure if any of you guys could help i would be grateful the thread with all my info is "for anyone who cares" under enclosures/fabrication.

Re: what do u think??

i think all of our first setups wernt that great, most of us learned by trial and error, personally i would rather risk blowing a set of sonys over some RE's, Kicker's or DD's. its not bad considering u were on a tight budget

ever heard of chad geary....he's proof that sony isn't always the crap that it's generally labelled as. he did a ~157.x with two 15" P5 powered by xplod xm-d1000p5 amps @ 16V.

you seriously have to put the sony crap to rest. yes, it's not the best brand/line out in the markert in terms of performace...that's a fact. however, that doesn't mean it has zero potential to produce good results.
