I'm thinking of picking up a newer Eclipse for my next deck since the have good SQ, and have added more features since I bought mine.

the only complaints i have is A) you can't turn the sub off, and B) there isn't a pause on mine, but there maybe one on the cd5000.

and what is up with the 5000 having 8 volt preouts and the 7000 having 5 volts.

The dekc just lakcs alto of features that allow you to adjust your systems sound to your preference. All the settings are already set, and all I can do is turn them on and off. Basically all my deck does is bass, treble, mids, balance and fade, a non-fader that I don't even use, loud, and a source volume control. This could be just the older models, because I don't pay alot of attention to Eclipse nowadays.

You can play and Record on to the Magic gate card, It does have an EQ
Its part of your setup in Menu ( it can be turned off) it has a 7 Band Perametric,
but its too difficult for most users, Its in the Advanced mode off and it wont
show up. Ipod conductivity is Easy with a adaptor, Charges and displays just like your ipod, (iPC-106), eclipse also has a eServe so you can customize your deck and dl maps for the gps, Add the gps ant and you get your directions
