Re: peel n seal nowhere.
Wasn't the eD stuff just rebranded stuff? I've heard about that on more than one occasion. Did they actually start using their own materials now?
If you think outside the box, you'd be amazed at what you could find that'd work for car audio. Hell, I found some connectors in the electrical section of home depot that'll handle up to 4/0 wire. They cost about $2 or $3. there's also something there that could be used for a multi-wire battery terminal for very cheap.

Are you guys using this roofing stuff for sound deadener? Does it work as well as dynamat or raammat?
yes, the roofing stuff works, and works good. Depending on the application, you may need more than one layer.
I mean, hell, why don't we all spend far too much money for far too much overpriced crap

Re: peel n seal nowhere.
you may be suprised to find out that you may want to look before you ask... not all the workers there know what peel and seal is or anything, so look first.

Also, I'm interested in that eDead.. How is that in comparison to the higher end/brand name deadeners?

Re: peel n seal nowhere.
I know P & S works well, but the ed products are fantastic.
The main difference between GraceIce & WaterShield and Grace Ultra is that while the adhesive in GraceIce & WaterShield is based on SBS rubber, the adhesive in Grace Ultra has a butyl rubber base. There are other differences as well. Grace Ultra may be left exposed to the sun for up to 60 days, and it is slightly thinner at 30 mil than GraceIce & WaterShield, which is 40 mil thick.
Stated simply, butyl rubber offers exceptional stability at high temperatures. In some roofing applications, such as those in the desert southwest, roof temperatures can get high enough that SBS based adhesives can flow under the extreme heat. Butyl rubber based membranes remain stable for long periods of time even at extreme roof top temperatures.

Re: peel n seal nowhere.
Grace Vycor Ice and Water shield = decent stuff
Protect-O-Wrap = same as peal-n-seal.
In the Beretta, P&S worked best out of the two. I still have two pieces under the car's spare tire well (outside the car, under it, near the exhaust. Did not clean metal either). It's been up there about a year, if I remember right (did all of last season with it there). I can't pull it off. Same with the underside of the trunk lid, can't pull it off without bending the hell out of the lid (unless I use a heat gun).
If you can't find P&S in your area, all hope is not lost. MFM Building Supplies carries it. $89 for a 33.5 foot roll, 36" wide (supposedly 100sq.ft.)
Quote:
General Installation: Peel & Seal is easily installed by removing the release
paper and pressing into place. It may be cut to fit with a scissors or razor
knife. Peel & Seal adheres to the deck and to itself when overlapped. Roll
surface and seams with a hand-roller.
Apply in fair weather at temperatures above 55° F.
Minimum slope of 1/2 per foot is required.
Not intended for areas with ponding water!
When overlapping, 3 side laps and 6 end laps are required.
Masonry, concrete, raw wood, and rusted metal should be primed first
with MFM Prime-a-Seal or similar asphalt primer.
To improve adhesion, use MFM Spray Adhesive as needed.
Seams and overlaps must be firmly rolled with a hand roller!
Also make sure the metal is clean and dry. If corroded, prime
with MFM Prime-a-Seal.

look in the phone book under roofing suppliers in your area.
and make a few calls, roofing wholesale for example. sells it. but you will in the long run, be happier with either dyna mat.
or rammat.
but if you look at the pictures of most any peal and seal application. you will see it pulls away in some areas and you will be glad you paid a few cents more for a real car environment design product
