Re: bad dimming problem

alpine247, people like Excessive amperage, Ohio Gen, Iraggi can make custom 200+ amp alternators that can bolt on to your car, and are not very hard to install, they would install just like the 95 amp alternator you saw.

If you play your system with your car on (you should), you can place a battery in your trunk (yellowtop) and wire it parallel to the stock battery without the need of a battery isolator. If you do this run 0 gauge to the trunk.

When you do your grounds, take some sand paper and sand off the paint/crap off of the metal to get a really good ground, so be sure you did that.

I would run 0 gauge for power wire (throughout the car), and get some 0 gauge crimp terminals (you can get them on ebay) to do the big 3...I buy my 0 gauge power wire from knukonceptz (www.knukonceptz.com).

When you do the big three, you do not replace the stock wires, you add onto it. On ebay you can find dual 0 gauge battery terminals (stinger/ect) that you can use to connect the wires.

Good luck.

Re: bad dimming problem

your gonna pull more power from the alt to charge it up, but itll give you a few more amp hours, i found when i did the big three the wire on the alternator was so small it limited the output of my alt

Re: bad dimming problem

dominick@tds.net

That's Dominick Iraggi, email him, give him the info on your vehicle and ask him for a list of alternators that will fit your ride.

That should help a lot. Post some pictures of your engine compartment as well. I'll see if I can help you out.

.. or instead of engine to chassis, just go from the alternator bracket bolt to the neg of the battery. Buying another battery is only going to get you a bit more playing time if you're dimming badly. Have you looked at all the HO custom alternator manufacturers for an alt? I'd want to move up a little higher than that just to have some overhead in the future.
