He's just tha first to do what he did, so he's known for it. that's all.

****ty setup? I lost mine with a single 12" sonic FX pushing 2kw LOL. my side mirror popped off once and I just stopped even trying to reatach my rear view mirror after the 5th time in a month. and now with the new 18" MT I wont even both with the side mirrors if they fall again. but like i said I think my side mirror was a ****ty factory install.

Re: Side Mirrors fell off!!
well i got another quote from the dealer today for the glass, the driver side is $304 bucks for glass only and the pass side is $51, big difference in price there. they said thats what it will cost to bring the truck back to GM spec as far as vin number goes. i asked about getting just a plain mirror and they said no way, there's like a thousand different combo's and the "new" parts catalog they have doesn't allow them to check different ones, only they ones that pop up in the vin check will show. good news though, they said it was covered under my purchased warranty, the only catch is that there is a $200 dollar deductible for every claim. should have read the fine print better before i left the lot i guess. at least its better then $300 but its still way more then 50 bucks!

Well I have factory mirrors and there made of pot metal but its still
carnage. Cheap or not I break metal mirrors off my window with one
sub Ive also broken all the plastic clips that held on my
spoiler, and the third break light wont screw in, two of them were
lost in traffic.

i think ya'll need to realize that every car is built differently and not every car will react the same way as others...
and tell me why my two jl 10w6v1s in a sealed box vibrated my mirrors 10x more than my 2 12in sxs... it aint cus they were louder...

Re: Side Mirrors fell off!!
man, i gotta find out who your parts guy is cuz mine is raping me on those mirrors!! i wish gm would have designed the rotating assembly a little better, cuz little tabs just seem cheesy to me. ive seen trailblazers with systems in them and the mirrors stay put! except for the rearview one folding down, but noone needs that one anyways. saving them is almost impossible as they come off and dangle when im on the freeway doin 85, although the first time the driver side came off i noticed it and i rolled the window down to hold on to it till i got home, just my luck it was 43 degrees and pouring down rain, so by the time i got home my hand was frozen but at least i was able to save the glass. u every try putting something around the housing to take up the gap so the mirrors cant rattle? like some closed cell foam or somthing?

Re: Side Mirrors fell off!!
mine are the powered and have that antiglare thing that makes it kinda green at nite when bright lights hit it. The part that breaks is right where you said, at the plastic tabs that grab onto that circle thing. they hang by the wires when it comes out and If i can stop fast enough when i see it happen then i can sometimes save it. When i say ive REPLACED my mirrors those are the ones where i was bumpin and goin to fast and watched it shatter on the street. There has been a few times where i was able to toss some CA glue on the tabs and pop it back in and save 50 bones.
Im sure it would be over 200 for the entire mirror but the glass itself isnt nearly as much......but 50 bucks still sucks.

Re: Side Mirrors fell off!!
sorry bout the confusion, its the actuall glass that fell of on the driver side. they arent held on with glue, it has a circular track in the middle that has tabs that clip on the side of the track, there is two big clips on the ends that are broken also, the mirrors i have are heated, anti-glare and powered. but only the driver side, thats why that ones is $350, the other side was like $245. oh and if u want pics of the glass and the housing i can send them to you if any of you think im lying to get attention.
steve, were your mirrors the powered ones or just plain-o ones? cuz i dont really see myself replacing the power ones everytime they break, and $50 bucks for glass is within reason to me.
