bball09124 and 1600 watts to a sub rated at 500? r's are good for the money, but not that good.

squeak12 Some subs are built so they cant bottom out mechanically. Im not sure about Treos, though.

galacticmonkey why am i getting the role eyes?

my treos i could slam anything to em, as loud as i wanted and they would never bottom out. im sure that had to do with not having much power to them, but id go 10hz full tilt and they would just play it.

Kay Ot Tek lol @ monk not knowing that happens with a lot of subs. Especially way below tuning frequency.

i finally coughed up the money and bought subs which i really liked, but i still had the cheap amps, and because of that my score and loudness suffered.

at last ive decided on this project to go and save over months and months and buy quality equipment.

moral of the story: you get what you pay for. if something seems too good to be true, like a huge power amp for cheap, it is. quality costs money.

edit for jo0es: i really didnt like my Rs that much. i had my gains set appropriately, and even then those things couldnt take a bx1605D for more than 5 minutes to save its life. anything that was low, below 25hz they would just bottom out. imo, they are nothing special at all. if people run them and like them, good for them... really. for a budget sub, they are decent, but not the be-all-end-all woofer everyone makes them out to be. anyways, back on topic.
Seriously...?
