I mean this amp is new and not used so I can return it if need be. In that case I can choose any amp. Would you still go with the 3k's?
well, alphasonic amps really arent great

but, out of the 3 sub choices, i would go with the HD3 for loudness
im not sure if you have enough power for the other 2 options
03-04-2007 12:46 PM
plushDJ alphasonik is sketchy. Some of their stuff is crap but there's one guy on here that swears by them (can't remember who). I'd try to find something else to power those subs, if you're getting quality subs why not get a quality amp??

didnt mean to jump down your throat

i just wanted every one to know that they arent the same....that post wasnt necessarily pointed at you

BTW: have you been having problems logging into XB today?

EDIT:
ice was running 4k to it daily off of an autotek mm4k
the only reason he says 3k is because he takes imp rise into concideration where as every one else just says 4k

every ones set up is different, so it is easier to say that they will take 4k....

one of audioques guys had 2 memphis 4ks strapped to each of their hd3s for over 30 sec. and never got smelly if that tells you any thing

visitor the 5200 is not a straight spl driver. (i.e. mt, btl, etc) it is simply MORE spl oriented than the lms, etc... will still sound extremly nice. As far as power rating- tc is extremly conservative with that. will handle more than 2000 all day and not complain a bit... here are a couple of links might help you out-
http://www.tcsounds.com/forums/index...ic=696&hl=5200
http://www.tcsounds.com/forums/index...topic=271&st=0

and um... hd3 doesnt have cooling "options" thats fi with the btl...HD3 is a nice sub, and well within your power range. only disadvantage is the larger box that would be required. (tc's are made for smaller boxes, although the 5200 is a relativly "overmotored" sub, so boxes are tricky for this sub as well)

hope that helps ya some...
03-04-2007 08:15 AM
jdiddy ok im confused. per Kyle from tcsounds the 5200 is a spl driver. I know it says 2000wrms and 6000wmax. so it needs more than 2000wrms to sound good at all? Wouldn't that cause a problem seeing it is 2000wrms continous? how does the hd3 hold up without the cooling options I hear about?
03-04-2007 08:02 AM
visitor all the tc subs are sql drivers... the 3000 will fit your power range far better.a properly powered 3000 will outdo an improperly powered 5200...
03-04-2007 07:38 AM
jdiddy I thought the tc-3000 was more sq driver than spl? Is that wrong? I mean I could go with 2 12's vs a single 15.
03-04-2007 07:31 AM
visitor get the hd3- 1600 isnt enough for the 5200 to get the full performance out of it..... actually i would recommend the tc3000 overall- they would fit your power range perfectly....
