That's where I got mine from.. coppercableman .. I ordered #1 but was shipped 1/0. Maybe it was a confusion of terminology between us or an out of stock situation, but I got a lot more than I was asking for, so I sure as hell didn't complain.

I can deal with some pink wire. As long as it says.... "Yes, My truck is louder " LOL

Well you can go to a local shop and spend $5/ft on Kicker 1/0, or go to weldingsupply.com and spend like $3.70/ft on 4/0 welding cable.
Hell, I ran Soundquest 1/0 in my car. Worked just fine.

wire is not just wire
there is aluminum wire, copper wire, aluminum coated copper, silver infused copper, Im sure im missing a couple
That statement is also waaaayy to general if wire is wire then why bother running 1/0 when 18 gauge is a ton cheaper
But all in all welding wire is the way to go imho

I think the welding wire jacket is tougher as well. Some wire even has 2 layers of jacket so that if it snags on something, you might just tear off the top layer. Of course, this isn't usually a problem if you lay your wire right. Car audio wire typically looks better is about the only reason I'd buy it. I got some of that for the more visible portions of my wiring.

Wire is wire. Find some cheap wire and run a ton of it.

I always use welding wire i love it, will never use car audio wire
It is just as flexible as car audio wire, alot cheaper and the jacket is a ton tougher

Id Say Go For It...thats Some Nice Cheap Wire...

U n K n O w N ?
Yeah but are there any advantages of using it for $2.00 per foot? <--- with a price like that should I just use regular ol car audio wire

Depends on the welding wire you get. I got some 4 gauge from Nate and it was more flexible than any wire I've ever used. I also have some 2 or 0 gauge wire with thicker walls and it's not extremely flexible, but will do the job.

Either is fine. The car audio wire may be more flexable.

I use welding cable on every install and it works great to me. I think most dont use it cuz its not as pretty! The flexibility is the same and/or right up there with the flexiest!
09-14-2007 07:56 PM
mjf595
cheaper, havent heard really anything bad about it, it will get the job done, you may lose alittle bit of flex pending what kind it is, but other than that. i say go for it.
