yep, i mixed them, sorry
both are probably hooked up to the 12volt ignition'
and a 12volt constant is always hot, while a 12 volt ignition or acc is only hot when the key is forward or back

LMAO at this thread. check your wires bro, if not your wires then maybe your deck is going out. there is a logical way to rule out every single reason why it should not work . so just spend some time and figure it out .

and I did more that take a guess at the remote wire. which if he said his amp wasnt turning on, would make sense!!
maybe he should check the air in his tires. that might be the problem

and the headunit usually wont turn on if the yellow wire isnt connected. the headunit needs it to "see" that the key is forward or back. thats the wire that makes sure that your stereo wont drain your battery when your key is off.

remote, as in 12 volt remote, as in 12 volt ignition, 12 volt acc, ect.. there are multiple names for everything. Thats jsut what everyone around me and including me uses... at least i didnt say "yellow" which IS NOT UNIVERSAL. yeah most of the time its ignition, but sometimes it isnt.
I use the word remote because it acts just like the amp "remote" wire, when the key turns on, it lets the headunit know its on.

deck keeps resetting
not sure what I did, but I had my blaupunkt in the car before, took it out to put in a clarion which internal amp blew.. so I put the blaupunkt back in.. anyways, everytime i'd turn off the car, and go back later, and turn on the ignition all my settings would be back to 0, and i have to press power to turn it on, anyone know how to get the deck to turn on when i turn on the key, and for it to keep my settings? thanks..
