Tacosys Well we have proof he knowingly sold a damaged item to someone else. End of story. He can say what he wants about us, but we know what type of person he is..

Unlike yourself, I value my feedback, and as soon as he said that he was having an issue with it, I immediately told him to send it back to me, and that I would pay the shipping charges back to me. Now you tell me, why would I send out a broken sub to someone, completely refund them, and pay shipping charges both ways? Thanks for trying to ruin my rep, but my transactions speak for themselves. I could really care less about what you think of me, but in now way would I EVER WASTE MY TIME TRYING TO SCAM SOMEONE. Get your facts together.

Tacosys He is a scammer. Now this leaves me to believe that Qbenjamin damaged the sub after he bought it and blamed it on Ruckus.

breakjunki thats shady, they guy that bought it on CA said he got it with a "recone" from him. if qbewnjamin reconed it cool, but from the problem sounds like no.. . How are you gonna bitch about a shady deal then pass off the same shady deal to somebody else... ****ty

wow. He cried and cried about it all of this forum, and then he goes and sells it to someone else. Looks like I may have to link that guy to this thread.

Qbenjamin There is no difference in the loudest output I can get from my HT than with the amps. That shoud definitely make a difference free-air or not.

Free-air you might not see enough difference to really notice.

I know the SXs are fairly stiff, so comparing it to a CVX might not be the best. Hard to say unless I see it with my own eyes though.

Can you tell if the coils are rubbing? Just pushing down on the cone will give you that answer. Did you meter the coils after running it free-air for a while to see if one coil still read differently? What did they read?

Just trying to get the whole story here before you shell out the cash on a recone. Also, have you contacted FI about recones? They seem to be considerably cheaper than RE (at least when it comes to Canadian competitors anyway). Guys running MTs saved close to $100 a sub by getting FI recones rather than RE. Just an idea.
I had contacted them (FI) a couple of times, but no response. I tested the sub on music, as I don't have a test tone CD. There is really not much excursion at all from the sub with 600 or 1kws......

I was unable to do anything besides a free-air test, but when compared to a CVX 12, this sub barely moves off of 600w @ 4 ohms, and their is no difference when it's bein given around 1Kw @ 1 ohm. I knew this sub was bad news from the time I read it with my DMM. So, just as my title states, I received a bad sub from this guy. I have already chalked this one up as a loss, as he was putting the blame on shipping, or me swapping it out for another SX. I have already talked to RE, and I explained the whole situation to them, so they will be doing the re-cone once I send it out on Friday...........

zeptoplix There is no doubt that it changes the parameters of the sub. I didn't say that it didn't. Your snappy reply just makes you seem defensive.

Not only that, but since only one coil is "blown" as you say, it should still hammer away with just one hooked up, so do it up.
You are an f-ing idiot. If one coil on a sub is faulty, then it totally changes the parameters of the sub. Take your idiotic comments elsewhere.

Supposedly they are giving me a discount.......$140. I am going to send it to them on Friday. They said that the turn-around time should be about three days. I wish I had my camera to post a vid of the problem.
