Yeah, I like the low thing as well... but, eh, ridin' high is just what I'm in the mood for at the moment.

Not my style, but you do you.
I'm more into being low at all costs. I'm running 19's and contemplating on running 18's so I can go lower.

Re: Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???
I like the big rim look personally. My Monte Carlo was on 20s until I sold them... as you can see, I still had room to lower my car a good two inches or so. Next, I'll be lifting 2" to fit 22s without rubbing or cutting up my car. Some say it "ruins the performance".... it's a 3.1L v6 for crying out loud, the performance is going to suck either way.

Re: Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???
I think as long you keep the size to what fits the vehicle then it looks great. I plan on putting either 24's or 26's on my truck but those same rims would just look stupid on a smaller vehicle. IMO these "donks" that people build where they jack the car up and put 30's on them just look retarded.

I say whatever you go with, keep 'em clean lol. Seriously, I've seen someone have some 22's that were dirty almost everyday. Shame on them

I admire some cars with big rims, but I would never put rims on mine, I rock the police steelies with chrome hubcaps.
the Harley Davidson Caprice is on that page. I believe he did a good job on it.

Re: Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???
So 15" to 17" is ok, but 18" to 20" is "ghey" just because it's a 20" rim? It's all relative when it comes to big rims, what looks HUGE on one vehicle is probably a stock size on another vehicle. You can't say one certain size crosses the line. A 19" rim on a Geo would look ridiculous but is a stock size for a 2012 Mustang.

Re: Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???
Big rims are ghey. if you have 15's and you are going to 17's thats ok.But when people do like 20's and up.Most of the time it doesnt look right. And when they put the size of thier rims on the fenders with those blinged out emblems, thats ghey as hell.

Re: Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???
personally, i think they're ugly on most cars, not to mention a safety hazard. let's throw 100lbs of unsprung weight on a 25 year old car rolling with stock brakes...seems smart to me. there"s a guy in my neck of the woods who did one right, though. he took an 85 caprice, lifted it, slapped a supercharged LS1 under the hood, added 14" Audi brakes on all 4 corners and adapted the rear axle from a Yukon Denali with quadrasteer. his 26" rims weigh over 100lbs apiece, and that crate stops faster, accelerates harder and turns tighter than my heavily modified Taurus SHO...
the Harley Davidson Caprice is on that page. I believe he did a good job on it.

I like the 84's too! I think it's a much classier look that these other small rims.... On the Buicks and Cadillacs that is.

Naw no offense really...i just wanna smack the people that hate big rims but love huge azz tires! Common sense...a small rim and huge tire rides "alot" higher than a huge rim with a small tire! Granted it all depends on the application. I personally dont like "wheel well gap"! The first thing people do is fill dark empty space with more dark space...i.e. bigger tire. Much better solution..bigger rim...or lower the vehicle! But to each their own!

Re: Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???
I don't like HUGE rims on a car, but I run 20's on mine, 20x9 front and 20x10 rear, I'm upgrading the brakes this summer to 14" rotors and they just wouldn't work with stock 18's. I will say that big rims on a car is better than the super "blingy", tacky wheels that some people run.

Re: Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???
Gonna make some "VALID" points
a truck with 28" rims and tires with an overall ride height of 33.8" ppl say is retarded..but
a truck with 20" rims and mud tires with an overall ride height of 36+ inches is acceptable? Ive seen trucks with a ride height of 44" on mud tires.. which I felt was ridiculous in every sense...but to each their own.
Had 24" on my hemi charger...and rest asure haterz....there will be 26..maybe even 28" rims gettin slapped on my truck! ...with the small exception... will be lowering my truck...make those big rims look real nice hugging the wheel well...Do take notes!

Re: Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???
I personally like big wheels but there are way more cars with oversized ugly rims than big tasteful ones.

Re: Do you think big rims are "tacky" ???
If the rim size won't allow atleast a three inch sidewall I say hell no to it. I used to change tires and anything less would always end up in warped rims. And also anything less severly hampers cornering performance.
