Yeah I know the last couple I sold were rated at 700w-800w. Probably one of my best selling amps, 1400w i dont think so..............unless struck by lightning while going 88mph.....oh sorry i was thinking of something else

That "ghetto" box is 3.5cu made of 1 inch thick MDF and weighs a considerable amount and therefore doesnt fit in my trunk well. It takes up my whole trunk and because of that when its in there all you can hear is the trunk being raped and its not as loud so the box goes in my backseat.

If only I knew how to quote on here... But to sri3850341, my sub is NOT overheating at all. Im just stating that its actually getting warm now. Whereas before, at 1 ohm, it wouldnt even get warm. My amp on the other hand, if I were to run it long enough then yes it probably would overheat. I realize completely that this amplifier is NOT meant to run at a half ohm load, but that certainly doesnt make it IMPOSSIBLE. The fact is that its doing it, and quite well I must say. I am buying 1/0 wire to do my entire big 3 upgrade and judging by my MINOR voltage drops that should provide nice clean power for the amplifier. Im also looking into getting a 225A alternator if possible for my car when I get the money. Im going with more than 200A cuz I want headroom in case I want a bigger amplifier. And Im sure this amplifier is drawing ALOT of power at half ohm and is probably very inefficient at half ohm.

I know that it actually heats up the coils on the subwoofer pretty good so its getting more than 1kwrms to the sub and the amp also gets hot pretty fast running half ohm. Might look into some cooling for the amp once I get my electrical upgraded cuz the heat is probably being caused by low voltage.
lots of info in this post.. Fi bl shouldnt overheat on 1500 or less watts, your using a clipped signal you need to retune. you have no headroom which is worse than overpowering, get a bigger amp and stable electrical to provide a stable/strong power platform to start with.. have you ever heard a solid 150 on music, consistant?? as far as "cooling for the amp", provide proper power and use as directed you wont have cooling issues..

Why would I need a DMM (which isnt a good way to do it) to set my gains when I know what my input voltage going to the amp is and I know what my amp is set at? It could possibly be clipping from really dirty power and lack there of. My electrical is really struggling with it now.

Re: 1480wrms~ 15inch Fi BL

yeah i agree i think you are cliping the amp i have never owned a RF but i have been told that they will run at 1/2 ohm all day use a DMM to set your gain there is a tutorial thread on here if you dont know how also i think you are probaly closer to 900 rms at a 1/2 ohm with your amp you might consider selling it and moving up to a 1000.1

Re: 1480wrms~ 15inch Fi BL

look at the comment on youtube I think thats whats going on. you are most likely clipping the amp.

(yes that was me that posted that)
