Everyone in this sport should be required to have clear glass and doors open while in the pits for spectators to see the inside of the vehicles...it turns away the newbes if they cant see...why go to a show and talk to these guys when they are secretive...if you are afraid of someone stealing your design at that level through a picture then all it shows is your insecurities as a person and competitor...just my two cents

You'd be surprised what you can do with an efficient driver and enclosure..
Alan Dante is a real smart guy, and he never lets anyone look in his vehicles...
If you knew what was inside...
You'd know why!

Re: Alan Dante! Close up of a 180 dB car
he took the world record at the time with 1 18''
and then he was over 180 with a single 10''
now he has 3-4 subs in there
at least I think that's how it went

If I remember he only had 1 or 2 woofers doing a 180 which is impressive.
It takes a lot of skill to pull that off with low count drivers.
I never really cared for burp cars, but I sure as hell respect them because you can learn from them on how to create great bass race and or daily cars.

considering there's what only 5-6 people in the world that have done it should hvae shown you how difficult it was...
anyone thats not impressed by a 180 needs a realityg check. it takes INSANE ammounts of work and money.. with just money your only choice would be to hire someone thats done it before or plan on spending several thousand hours .

smartest post in thread. I'm not even going to comment on the semi or mobile home comments because I'm not teaching why that isn't possible.

Re: Alan Dante! Close up of a 180 dB car
I've never heard a car that loud before. It does make sense that at a certain point, the vehicle is no longer drivable. Heck, ostriches don't fly but their still considered a bird. So yeah it's still a vehicle and if producing the loudest burp possible causes the vehicle to become un-drivable, then that's what it takes.

Re: Alan Dante! Close up of a 180 dB car
i was obviously exaggerating ... wow.. slow your roll... my main point w/o exaggeration as I said b4 it is impressive to see that # if thats all ur after...
what impresses you or joe blow or me is gonna be different... I am not impressed by it...i Used to be long ago.... I am not now...impressive to me is something that will hit 150 daily and have amazing sound...
what these guys in extreme do is impressive... to a point... only a few have done it... not because others cant either...but because it is a niche... not a norm... and it is horrendously expensive...
those that are impressed should accept my opinion just as I accept theirs... i didnt say you guys were idiots or ignorant just because you are impressed and have a different opinion did I??
so now sit in my seat...
anyone that thinks I don't know the amount of $$ and skill required is the 1 that needs the reality check... no offense to anyone at all...)
we were doing 150's in the 90's on single subs...no one really cared back then near as much as they do today... and back then you won money.. not a lame trophy lol
it is all a matter of opinion...yours mine or the other... opinion...
2 years ago I would have agreed... I grew up alot and realized that getting loud is for the young guys I wanna get loud and be driveable lol
if that means 150 so be it thats more impressive to me....

his build doing 180 is impressive if all you look at is the #'s... but my point is so what....anyone with alot of $$$$ can do the same thing any day of the week in an extreme class since their is no limits... you wanna impress me? do a 170 in a daily driver on 2 subs...
No. My point is your ignorance came with the statement that anyone could do it with the cash. Which isnt true. I bet if you just made a huge wall with a ton of subs and a ton of power, and even cemented the walls of yoru ride, you'd still probably not break 180. I bet it takes much more than either me or you could comprehend to be able to build something that can make and withstand that kind of pressure.

no one has ever even gotten close to that...in the states anyway. beau is the loudest in super street 1-2 and his truck isn't really drivable. he's in the 66 range, with battery racks under the truck and everything.

With the work that goes in to those vehicles, I would NEVER look at one and say "so what... it can fart a 180." That's a damn hard score to get and very impressive, whether you like the extreme class or not.

lol guys here at Bandimere hated us for that bust a low 11 or high 10 and not be trailer-ed... made them sick...
I feel the same about extreme class cars.. so what.. it can fart a 180.... you still cant drive it...so whats the fking point?
