BRE are slightly stouter but other than that they are the same amps

ay sic can you tell me the big difference between the bre and brz? i might be looking into getting a new amp. from what i heard the bre are better? pm me some prices

they are nayusty in comparison...I have always liked Hifonics alot now I LOVE them... the BRZ are an extremely well designed and built line.

Good amps indeed. My BXi2006 is still going strong
I haven't used the BRZ line yet, since I haven't had any need for another amp.
But if they are better than the BXi line, then they are incredible deals.

My buddies old Brutus 1205d just finally popped. Just a cap split open and leaked. No burnt mosfets or anything. Nothing smoked. And this was along with a 4 1/2 foot ground cable made up of two pieces of 4 gauge taped together with raw wire crammed under a seat bolt. That amp lasted 3 years like that. It's my garage. Their good amps for the money.

Just got my BRZ2400 hooked up tonight. This thing is a beast! Very happy with this amp.

I've been a Maxx junkie ever since I got back in the game around 2000. Lately, I've noticed that people will pay for Hifonics gear before the "higher-end" comp stuff, even used. My ZX8000 still surprises the **** outta all the local ghetto bangers, and I've beaten that one for years. My BRZ1200 & HfiD4's sound way better than most $2k+ systems in town, and that's in a rattle trap!

Before I had my BRZ1700 I had the BXi2010. It only lasted 7 months. Turned out to be a internal DC fault. They gave me the BRZ for the credit. Much better amp in my opinion. The BXi would get really hot and I was running it @ 2ohms. I have 2awg main to a fused distro block. Then about 10-12" of 4awg to the amp. I still have the same wire and the BRZ barely gets warm. It sounds cleaner and louder to my ears than the BXi did too. IMO Maxxsonics did a great job on these amps

Changed over to two Opti 2000ds, no problems at all. It wasn't my first rodeo.

I said pound for pound. Hifonics will get the job done..... although AQ will get the job done better, but at a bigger price. (of course I'm basing this all on research, lol)

Sorry, but if you went through 6 of the same amps within a 2month period, you have other issues in your setup. While I agree that Brutus amps are not up to par with Sundown Audio/Cactus/Incriminator Audio/Mmats, they are very decent amps for a budget install.

I had an older hifonics brutus 1000 and ran two cvr 15s off of it at one ohm and it never even got warm. The old ones weren't rated rms either!!!

i think if we were way out of this recession, then peeps here would be buying the popular and expensive amps from sundown. i know I would as well as the sundown subs like the incriminator or nightshade!

I guess these brz amps are more bang for the buck. I'm just impressed they don't get glowing hot after 1 hour of constant use at medium to loud volumes!

my boss took abuse =) it was ran at 1 ohm with my cvr's (2ohm stable amp)

until last year they had 4x 40 amp fuses... the new 2010 up models are the exact same guts but with 5x 40 amp fuses... do the math and they are barely at 70% efficiency at 4 ohms... horrible at 1 ohm..

4x40 =160 x 14.4 = 2304 * 70% = 1612 watts at 14.4 volts..
@ 12.6 = 2016 * 70% = 1411

and these are at 4 ohm efficiency for 1 ohm power which is being very generous...

Really? Gosh they do suck. The only PA amp I ever ran was the A3000db. It was decent.
