I would be willing to bet the skbt20 would fit into any.. i mean any stock location.. It would probably be a little small but thats easy to fix. And yeah... I have spent so much time reading about shet its ridicoulous... lol

I forget that some people don't research shet as much as I do. Was just a starting point but without knowing the size he can fit it's useless recommending anything.

I have no idea what would fit under the hood. You'd have to go measure the area you have available and either let us know or research it yourself. O'reillys have cheap and apparently dependable AGMs.

As Sintor said, the Shuriken would be good.

I'd try a bigger AGM battery to begin with then look at a 160-200amp HO alt if the batt doesn't solve the problem. Something like this should do -

agm battery = a good mofo

nah its absorption glass matt. and they discharge and charge much faster than a standard lead acid.

4 gauge what you want for your application.

Recommended Power and Ground Cable Sizes & Speaker Wire Size and Length

As for speaker wire, you would be fine with like 16 gauge wire. The largest speaker wire I have hear of someone using was 10 gauge. He eventually took it out and replaced it with 12 gauge wire because the 10 gauge wire was so big it kept falling out of the terminals.

Re: what gauge wire? how do i know what it will do?

I bought the boss amp because it put out the most power across 5 channels for the price range.

what does AGM stand for?

and my stock alt. puts out like 60 amps...

Re: what gauge wire? how do i know what it will do?

If that's what you're working with for the moment, then you need a good run of 4 gauge power wire and a ground wire that's no longer than 3 1/2 feet long. I go with a 3 feet long ground wire.

The amp is almost the same price as much more powerful amps.

Look at Hifonics amps like this one: HIFONICS BRUTUS BRZ1200.1D 1200W MONO D Car Amplifier | eBay

The Hifonics will shock you at how much better it is than the Boss Audio amp.

Also, 4 gauge would be fine. You need to do The Big 3, too.

Re: what gauge wire? how do i know what it will do?

You'd be lucky to be getting 1k out of it, more like 8-900 and the sub channel which pulls the most amperage would likely only be 500wrms.

I'd think the biggest agm battery you can fit under your hood should solve your problem. Unless you have a dinky little alt, then you might consider a larger alt.

what gauge wire? how do i know what it will do?

Hey guys. I had a question about trying to determine what an amp will put out. Someone once told me that so matter what the amp or the box that it came in says about wattage, all you have to do is look at the fuses on the amp add up the values and multiply by the battery voltage and that is how muhc power its putting out in watts. is this true?

I have a boss 2500 watt amp which i knew was overrated but it had 3x30 amp fuses so i figured it put out 1000 watt and it was 5 channel so it did what i needed an amp to do. Someone once told me on this that for around 1000 watts you dont need anything more then 4 gauge wire. I feel like that sometimes i have voltage problems and getting power loss in my car so i almost feel like i need another battery or a HO alt. so is there a guideline somewhere on which size wire for what wattage and when is there a point when i need to start getting a HO alt. and/or more batteries?
