Re: new 6th order for hdc318's

6th order is very tough on woofers that don't have good cooling, due to its extra cone control.

Re: new 6th order for hdc318's

id be worried about not hearing any mechanical noise. would make it tough to know how hard your pushing it. you can be over driving an not have a clue. may be ideal in some cases, just dont know aboug a daily driver application

Re: new 6th order for hdc318's

ok well i talked to jud (FALLEN) and from what he said it will not mess the subs up it will actually have more control over the woofers over a wider band of frequencies and the mechanical noise will be harder to hear because of the sub being kind of muffled in the box. SO I THINK I WILL BE FINE.

Re: new 6th order for hdc318's

so why exactly does a 6th order do that is more harsh on a woofer? i was reading they are known to mess subs up but what exactly will it do?

Re: new 6th order for hdc318's

IMO putting an AB or HDC sub in a 6th order is like flushing $$ down the toilet.. the soft parts suck and that is suicide for them...

Re: new 6th order for hdc318's

hmmm... looks too complicated to me lol. i like my ported boxes it should definitely slam though though, particularly into a cabin like that

Re: new 6th order for hdc318's

the square piece in the back will be an access panel so i can remove the subs if needed.

Re: new 6th order for hdc318's

yea i am deff excited and cant wait to see what thing will do from what i was told with the AQ's i will be moving massive amounts of air with this box. i was also told that he wouldent be surprised if it did do hair tricks so it is really got me thinking of the damage it will do to my truck. never owned a 6th order but i know my friend had a pyle red label square 12 in a 4th order and it got pretty nasty on 200 watt.

ok well i talked toJud at nightmareaudio.com who is fallen on ROE. i have a regular ported box now that is tuned around 33hz @ 13.4 ft cubed. it gets pretty loud now off of 2000 watts from my Memphis 16-mcd4kw @ 2 ohm. but Jud is saying this design will do better than the design that AQ reccomends. also remeber this is all going into a single cab 1995 ram 1500 5.9l 360. it will be all blowing through the back window which i do have a cap. this design is not fully completed yet

now to the pics
