I'm home on R&R from afghanistan and am looking for ideas that I can implement by the time I come home around april. I just picked up a 04 malibu LS and notice a few costly issues I'm going to have.
First is that what's called the "DIC" is built into my reciever. It's got all the options to turn on and off a lot of my settings and also shows my my economy, trip odometer thing, average speed, and the lot so I would like to keep it.
Crutchfield offers a dash kit that comes with all the stuff to keep the DIC as a seperate unit and allows me to install a normal single DIN head unit, but the kit is like 130 bucks. Thats not even counting buying the unit itself.
I thought, maybe I could go with something like the Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.1,2,3 or something, but I'm sure that's just as expensive too, and lets face it, I wouldnt even be able to properly use all that EQ'ing, I'd probably get too frustrated.
So I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions? The overall plan for the eventual system is a massive 12, 15, or a decent pair of 12's or something and I wanna ground pound at like 3000 watts rms or so. Let me know your thoughts
