Have you calibrated the stinger yet?
Keeping up voltage without a dedicated ground is kind of hard lol.

This should do the trick....

I got my clamp out after the test and was averaging 140 to 160 amps of draw and all at idle. I will make another test video soon.

Re: Alternator help

in the video he has POOR CABLE runs from front to back has nothing to do with alt performance notice the differences in voltage on front battery and back battery way off im sure his cables are upgraded by now

sintormans alt on the bench my bench cant handle over 200amps steady so i can only hold it for a few seconds but i have done load test on cars with higher results then 270 but i rate them at 270 still in the works of getting my new bench up and runnng

then the only numbers that matter are at the amp if its real world and that is not fair to the alt

Stop being so defensive i'm not trying to bash these alts. the alternator market is a tough one with only a few names that have made it to the top in our hobby. If you would like to help tenny alts rise up there post some videos of real alt testing proving they are good alt's not your version of a back yard test. All you showed us was how much voltage drop you have in your setup nothing about the performance of the alt.

um really don't see how that isn't a true test considering I am running a real world load like a system Are you saying you want to see what it does at full rpm and output?

Re: Alternator help

Does anyone other then sintorman know anything about tenny alt's or have any experiance with them?
I personally recomend exessive amperage alt's. Nate has always been good to me and i have not had a problem with the three alts he has built for me. I paid a smidge over 400 for my last 300 amp alt from him so pricing is good.
