Re: Drop spindles vs coils?
ok cool, so spindles would be the better choice then huh? they look a little easier to change in the drive way vs coils anyway :P

wow boosted got ahead of me lol. gonna read that now
I was actually looking at DJM kits, they were either spindles/coils and blocks for the rear. im more so going for the easiest do it yourself, i dont really want to pay for someone to do it if i dont have to :P ,

Re: Drop spindles vs coils?
One difference between spindles and springs is with spindles is your camber on the front will stay about the same so your tires won't wear out as fast on the inside. The average drop, I think, on the front is 2" and 3" on those sonoma's with some springs and blocks.
2" springs will cause the front tires to tuck in some but not like on a slammed mini truck or anything.
I went with Western Chassis spindles on the front of the van and a DJM flip kit on the rear. You can go with lowering blocks on the rear and springs on the front which is basically a 2-3 drop.
I got the "new/old" stock Western Chassis drop spindles from Summit Racing which have since been discontinued for the 85-94 Chevy Astro. I paid $300 for them but they were the only ones anywhere I could find for a decent price. Summit had them and no one else did.
drop spindle do not change geometry or ride, that is my pick, or lower control arm dropped spring pockets... My truck I did a 3" lower control arm and 2.5" spring...
