I assume you mean,"out".. Use your testlight or Digital Multi Meter, (assuming you have one if you don't stop what your doing.. If you do just power up the deck with the correct leads, them start hitting each pin, turn off the hu then turn back on. When you get a on off signal that would be your remote lead..
As ridin explained those are the most common colors for the remote lead.

Re: Headdunit help!! ASAP! buddys neon

bam, Look around online for the year make and model of your car to figure out what wires are what. I hate it when people cut the stock harness off makes everything a PAIN. to wire your amp up. there be a blue wire that comes out of your cd player. thats your remote wire. yellow wire on your cd player is your constant power goes to your battery. the red wire goes to your ignition source to turn the unit on and off with the car.

cars normaly have extra wires. DIM lights or some **** and some other weird wires. maybe even a autotheft type set up. which is where you want the aftermarket harness to wire it all up so nothing shorts out and everything works.

I had a friend that decided to cut his harness and wire it up straight, which is a pain because you need to twist and tape the wires with your hands n the dash half the time it seems like. His dad was drivin the car and it started smoking. something shorted out and about caught the car on fire he had to break the dash yanking the unit out. Thats why I always solder and shrink tube the connections. SOLID connection, no shorts no worries.

My 6 year old son pre-wires my autostart and/or deck harnesses for me sometimes (including solder) so yeah, no one can tell me soldering is too hard or not worth it.

And yes, ALWAYS buy the harness adapter and NEVER cut the plugs off the end of the factory harness.

If you already did this you can buy this http://www.metraonline.com/part/71-6502-1 replacement harness... if you want to wire in a new deck you might as well buy this http://www.metraonline.com/part/70-6502 adapter harness as well.

The attachment shows the wire colors you will need if you want to proceed without buying anything new. Just tape off the wires that you don't use in the factory wire harness.

Stop right where you are now and go get a harness from a junkyard (unless you were smart enough to keep the factory harness you cut out). Wire it back in the way it came out, check the fuses in the fuse box to make sure you haven't shorted anything out, and try the old factory radio.

Once you get that done, go to Wal Mart, or any store that deals in car audio and get the wiring harness for that year Dodge neon. Wire the radio to that and plug it up. Live and learn man, we were all young once
what this guy said, you gotta buy a harness that matches, that way everything gets matched up. pretty much a plug and play application really

Solder a harness.

Pshhh electrical tape and twisting all the way...

(pretty sure I'll end up with a super frustrating intermittent open circuit lol)

The spare wires probably go to something the aftermarket HU doesn't have, like gps.

Also in the future if you plan to install other systems, it is great practice to NOT cut into any stock harness!!!!!
