Re: AudioControl Epicenter

I have used this unit in the past with great results, it does not work like your oridinary bass boost. it takes the original bass freq recording and plays it an octave lower thus giving you a thunderuss low end bass. the drawback is if not set properly it is to much bass, a little goes a long ways and works best on older songs that dont have much bass to begin with, older rock, country, soul etc. this is a great piece to have, the meter is off a little but so what, its what it does to the bass is what is so impressive. the only other this is to send the unit a full range signal to work properly,

my 1st main system had clarion deck>epicenter>PG 215x eq>audiocontrol HPX then to the amps worked great awesome bass. not sure how you would intagrate this with a deck that has time delay unless the xover in the deck were defeatable and use the PL filter in the amp. give one a go they are great just remember a little goes a long ways and works better on older recordings or songs that dont have much bass to begin with.

Re: AudioControl Epicenter

I've study the gauge isn't that precise, and anything that increases or regenerates fish sounds isn't necessary unless you have very old mp3s. Not value 50 percent its price imo

I am already running AudioControl EQL and 24XS for a processor and crossover.

I've read the meter isn't that accurate, and anything that boosts or restores bass isn't necessary unless you have very old recordings. Not worth half its price imo

AudioControl Epicenter

Anyone have any opinion on the Epicenter?

I have been thinking about getting one of the in-dash units. It has a
voltage display and an SPL display. I think it could be a cool toy but I
have never used an epicenter and I'm not sure if it would be worth
the money.
