Re: New ride, new system.

Finally got over the cold I had, got some motivation to continue.

Fabbed up some ghetto fabulous fuse holders while I wait a couple weeks for the SHCA ones to arrive -

Some goodies showed up. Got blocks?

Got the highs amps running and hooked up a couple Anarchys free air to see what they are like. 1/3 gain and they go HAM, can't wait to get them in a sealed enclosure to see what they're like. Will have to wait for the doors build as I have family visiting for a few days.

Yeah, gonna plastidip the whole vehicle. Did the roof where the paint had faded and smoked the tail lights. Like the look so will do the rest in time.

I've had a cold for the last few days so motivation is low.

They're 2600's so 2600/6 = 433.33 x 3 = 1300.

Re: New ride, new system.

Didn't do much today, needed a bit of a break so only wired up a couple switches to turn the amps on and off separately when doing burps. Hidden away in the rear ashtray.

Thanks mate.

Progress for the day, got most of the wiring squared away. Only got amp power cables and RTO's off a relay to do now.

Overview of the back -

Right side with wires all tucked away in the conduit -

Left side shows the RTO and voltmeter wires -

Paint was to have the speaker wires match up since I couldn't find blue and brown -

NS-1 plate on and the 100.4's peeking out -

Thanks Big J! Would be happy to host you should you ever be in Aus.

Got some progress done today, mostly running wires. Paint job from yesterday was just a "Meh, fuggit, that'll do" kinda thing.

Tucked nicely under the trim -

Out through the body and over a body mount bracket. I cut some rubber hose and covered the sharp edges after I took the pic.

Running along the chassis to the front body mount -

Over the mount -

Inside wheel arch view -

Up the curve of the chassis to the engine bay. Gonna make up 2 brackets to bolt the conduit to the chassis a bit better.

As the sun was dropping out of sight I just had enough time to tidy up the mess of wires connecting to the battery -

Re: New ride, new system.

Did some painting today and got started on the crimping. God that's time consuming.

Thought I'd share a trick I came up with, for those who have trouble getting wire into snug terminals or amps and don't know this idea.
Measure or guestimate where you want to strip your wire/cable so it bottoms out in whatever you're inserting it into. Move up to the end of the wire 1/8-1/4" and cut around. Move back to where you want it stripped to and cut around the wire again. This gives you a little ring separate from the excess jacket, which you can use to keep all the strands together while inserting it in the hole. You can cut the full depth point first, but I've found doing so means the jacket can slip around the cable while you cut the ring.

Then you can push the wire into the hole with the lug or amp terminal and cut the ring off, or leave it there if you frequently change amps.

Gives a nice clean finish with no stray strands poking out.

Things are coming along, just another 18 terminals to crimp... (The Mickey rug isn't mine)

Your workmanship and material selection appear to be top notch as usual. Keep it up, J!

Re: New ride, new system.

Didn't get much done today, people kept interrupting.

Set up a way to make the top panel holding the NS1 easily removable (only with the right tools).

Found some nice looking bannister brackets to brace the rack.

Re: New ride, new system.

Got started on the amp rack today, mostly finished bar sanding and some plastidip.

Since the NS1 is going on top, I had to cut a little access panel to get to the filters.
