Re: Exodus Anarchy To stay

This completely skipped my mind. Been so busy with work. You should have been notified about this but in case no one wasn't:

UPDATE: November 19,2013 - You can now finalize your Pre-Order. If you pre-ordered the Anarchy, please go to the bottom of the page and click on the middle product to Finalize Your Anarchy Pre-Order.

Anarchy Woofer Pre-Order DIY Sound Group

At this point you will mark which woofer you want. Finalize order instructions in description of Finalize order page.

Specs on the 4 or 8 ohm version should be the same. I've left a post for Erich on AVS to see if he can pull the T/S specs for the driver and see if they are different for the versions and if they changed from previous ones. Which should not happen as everything is the same. Same build house and components.

Re: Exodus Anarchy To stay

UPDATE: November 08, 2013 - The PRE-ORDER is now over. The Anarchy woofers are in the US and waiting to be released from US Customs. I was told that I should be able to pick them up around November 15th. I will be drawing to see who wins the raffles very soon. Of course, if you win, I will contact you and list your name here.

Once the Anarchy's are here, I will package some up and check the shipping weight. You will then be able to finish your order and have the site calulate what the actual shipping will be for you. I have a FedEx account and will pass along the discount like I always do.

I think there were 137 preordered Anarchy woofers which helped get the project completed. To the ones that pre-ordered, thank you for supporting this project that had a minimum order of 500 woofers. You locked in your price and it will not change. The new price will be listed once I calculate what the international shipping and US Customs fees and taxes will be. I will also try to offer some discounts for CNC cut speaker fronts for the ones that did preorder the Anarchy's.

Re: Exodus Anarchy To stay

Update:

Pre Order now over at previous price.

From Erich:

"UPDATE: October 19, 2013 - The DIY Community has done it again! The woofers were shipped from the manufacturer a couple days ago. I'm not sure how long it will take for them to get here, but I don't think it will be too much longer now. The Pre Order at the current price is now over. I will be making a list of all the people that prepaid and a drawing will be done for the give-away once the woofers are here. The Anarchy tapped horn and a couple subwoofer flat packs will be completed by the time these arrive. There will also be a couple speaker designs ready to go as well."

I can't say for sure as far as an exact eta but figure withing then next week or two we should hear something.

Once these are in Erich will have all the T/S parameters updated (technically shouldn't change from before). Also he will be getting the flat packs worked out as well.

Update from Erich:

UPDATE: August 27,2013 - The manufacturer contacted me and said these will ship in October. They did not give a definite date yet, but they hope it will be the earlier part of the month. If this is a time problem for anyone that has already pre-ordered the woofer, please let me know and I will refund your pre-order money.

Re: Exodus Anarchy To stay

They are having members submit some logo's for the woofer. It will still be the plain black cone. The logo will go on the magnet.

If your registered and are artistic. Give it a try

Qts = 0.44
Vas = 9.61L

Re = 6.4 Ohms
Le = 0.84 mH
BL = 10.79 N/A

Re: Exodus Anarchy To stay

For those who may not know. For a certain amount of pre-orders you will be entered into a raffle. Here are the requirements and prizes:

1) Pre-order 2 (that's two drivers not pair) Anarchy mids you will be entered into a drawing to get one of them free

2) Pre-Order 3-5 Anarchy woofers and you're entered in this drawing for your choice of prizes:

- One tapped horn flat pack for the woofer.

- Two bookshelf speaker flat packs for the Anarchy and tweeter of your choice.

- Front speaker baffles CNC cut for each woofer you preordered however you want.

- Two sealed subwoofer boxes of your choice that fit the Anarchy.

3) Pre-Order at least 6 of the Anarchy woofers and you're entered in this drawing. More info coming. Chances of winning will be pretty darn good!

Overall size is BIG

Cutout size is BIG

Please note that any winners, of any of the levels, will have to pay shipping

I might actually go 3 way with them. Eventually.

Haven't had major issues in a 2 way though.

Ya.

Pro if you looking at possibly using these. I would do 3 way with them. It is possible to do 2 way but is much harder to dial them in

Actually If a Mod could change the thread title to Exodus Anarchy 4/8 ohm Pre-order

That would be great. I have no affiliation with Erich or the Anarchy, Just wanted to bring info to the members here as I know a few people here loved these.

Oh ya its more then possible to do a 2 way + sub with these. That's what I'm currently running actually. Well technically atm they are still in a 2 way only setup in which they are crossed at 35Hz (18db/oct curve) to 3250Hz. Of course trying to play loud in that range kinda sucks as far as the higher freq (due to the cone movement) but they kill the lows. No kidding I literally shake the mirror, panels, etc... Actually could do a vid of it right now. Not to sure it will show up though

BUT these IMHO would kill in a 3 way setup as you can have these play in a range where they shine.

IIRC its like from 50(crossing point with like a 18db/oct curve)-600 or 700Hz.

Without RTA I haven't been able to find a sweet spot for the crossover but I'm crossing over at 3250 HZ (seems to sound the best IMO, still needs EQ work, Tweeters a far more efficient then these so am gaining down atm) and currently at 60Hz with no issues. I've tried crossing lower (2K) but with my tweeters being in the kicks I lose a lot of stage height. Eventually I will have the tweeters up by the dash (either in the A pillar or look at the covers for my mirrors). Tweeters are rated down to 900Hz so I have no issue crossover lower on the mids.

The drivers were in a .75 cu ft box from PE. As you can see the cone breaks up (mild) right around 4K.

There may be a post or two out there that have the copied specs of the driver but DIYCable no longer has them listed.

I look for a revision to the specs when they get produced though. Just for accuracy sake.

URGENT MUST SEE (Raffle prizes????)

Taken from DIY Sound Group:

Anarchy woofer Pre-Order
As we all know from the website, DIY Cable-Exodus is (sadly) closing down. The 6.5" Anarchy woofer that Kevin designed not only works as a woofer or midwoofer, but also as a subwoofer with it's massive 25mm peak-peak xmax. There are quite a few speaker, subwoofer, and tapped horn designs that revolve around the Anarchy and many people were hoping it wouldn't go away. I'm happy to say that Kevin has agreed to let me keep this little beast in production at the same manufacturer, keeping the same specs, using the same materials as before.

The Anarchy was originally produced as an 8 Ohm woofer. But there were many requests for a 4 Ohm version that would allow for more speaker design options and be more car audio friendly. The manufacturer agreed to allow for a split order so the DIY Community can have access to both models. This will require a fairly significant number to be purchased, so I've set up a preorder for anyone that would like to help out and be part of this.

When these arrive, there will be quite a few new speaker designs and kits made up. Future designs will include 2, 2.5, and 3 way speakers, small sealed and ported subwoofers, and the highly requested tapped horn. Basically, you'll have many designs to work with. If you're not 100% sure if you'll need the 4 ohm or 8 ohm model, you can select 'undecided' so you can pick the correct one for your needs once they become available.

PRICING: The past clearance price for these woofers was $50. It's my understanding that this is about as low as they can be sold for when you add in shipping and US customs fees. I'm going to add $5 to cover packaging materials and Paypal fees. I was told I should add in a little to cover some samples for testing and speaker design test mules. So that puts us right around $57. Once the woofers arrive and the preorder is over, the new price will have $5 added in for orphans and children in foster care. But during the pre-order, I'll pay the extra $5 for each woofer to keep prices low. It's going to a good cause.

What: The 6.5" Anarchy in 4 Ohm or 8 Ohm.

Why: There are quite a few speaker, subwoofer, and tapped horn designs that revolve around the Anarchy with many more to come now that both versions of this woofer will be available.

When: This group buy will likely take around 1.5 months or so. I will give project updates below to keep you informed on how everything is going.

Benefits for pre-ordering your Anarchy now:

Preordering will enter you into the raffle for some neat prizes. Click here for the raffle link: Raffle Prizes DIY Sound Group
You will be the very first to get them when they arrive. (bragging rights)
Your price is locked in and will not go up later. (smart shopper)
You're helping the DIY Community produce a top of the line product. (very helpful)
You can tell your friends and family you saved a great DIY product from extinction. (more bragging rights)

PLEASE NOTE: Your pre-order will not include any shipping charge costs. After the woofers come in, I will package them up to check the weights needed to calculate shipping costs. I have a FedEx account, so shipping charges are very reasonable.

Quick notes:

$57/woofer (50 of the driver itself, the other 7 to cover other costs)

I'm personally going to start off with a pair of 4 ohm drivers (for the car) but within the 1.5 month period I would like grab 2-8 pair (probably 4 ohms for my future HT build so I can wire them to 8 ohms).

I'm looking to do a all Anarchy 5.1 (may look at eventually doing a 7.1). Don't know what tweeter to run yet.

Ya I'm looking to do two Tapped Horns (tuned to 25 hz), MTM L-C-R, and maybe a MTM surround but may just do MT. I will have to do some more research of what the surround should consist of as mainly all the sound will come from the front.

I will post up a build log in the Home audio section here highlighting the build (years out but may start on the center satellite soon)
