Re: Dirty D's GP

That should be plenty port for a 4th. And the water in the floor board is a common thing, I think there is some part that you can get from GM to fix it. I haven't had to because for some reason mine is fine... although I did get a car wash once and have water fall through the dome light...

Re: Dirty D's GP

I did have a sander I tried to clean it up a best as I could, this was only the 2nd box ive built, I was rushing thru it to so that didnt help, my father in law has a wood shop think I'm going to have him build the next one for me After I get another sub and amp, I want to try a fourth order with a blow thru, thru the rear deck, I have a 5.5" x 10" square hole already there not sure if that would give me enough port area tho for a 4th order.

Re: Dirty D's GP

When I'm building and I have something a little off square a hand planer or sandpaper can straighten things out a little bit as long as its not a big oooopsie.

Re: Dirty D's GP

Thanks, I used a jigsaw to cut the boards, and they weren't very straight. that's why I used so many screws

Re: Dirty D's GP

Looks nice ill have to take out my interior soon so I can do my front stage and install the Shok 1/0 I ordered can't decide if I should do 4 runs or 6. Personally I think you could have a few less screws but maybe that's just me.

Dirty D's GP

Here is my build for my 04 GP GT2. Im pretty much done with the setup for now, would like to eventually upgrade my HU and interior speakers, all in time tho.

My buddy helping me pull out the interior to clean up all my wires and run some 0ga wire. I also needed to mount the amp somewhere because where you see it is where it sat when running my 15" kicker CVR

Front seats getting removed so I could pull up the carpet. Some thing I should have done 2 years ago, have had wire laying all over the place for a while now Pulling the red 4ga wire out. My floor was wet on passenger side curious if any of the gp owners here have a similar problem?

I didn't get any pics of the new wires laying in place, but I ran power wire and 2nd run of 0ga to connect a second battery when I upgrade my system. Bought a 50' roll of wire so why not just do it while its all torn apart. I ended up connecting the second wire to my chassis ground with amp ground and connected it to my alt casing, and alt casing to battery chassis ground. I know the chassis itself is supposed to be a better conductor then what the wire would add but figured wouldn't hurt, and read shouldn't connect amp ground directly to front battery which was what I was going to do. Either way its not just laying loose in the engine compartment.

Here is my amp mounted to the back seat. I tried to make it look clean as possible, I think it turned out decent. Still needs some vacuuming. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

On to the box, Here is the sketch I came up with. [IMG][/IMG]
dimensions are 34" wide X 12" deep X 14" high, Port is 1.75" wide by 12.5" tall and 20" long (smaller then I was intending put ran in to some issues mid build and just went with it) Its not my best workmanship but I think it overall turned out pretty good, Sounds better then I would of ever expected with the issues I had. [IMG][/IMG]
Here she is in the trunk, I tried to utilize as much of the width as I could to save on trunk space, my car is pretty filthy just pretend you didn't notice. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

that's pretty much it for now, I need to get out and get some more pics when its sunny out. Im happy with sq/spl I get with this box and the SA-12, Im pretty impressed with the speaker, I have it running at 1ohm on the BRZ1200.1, this new box seems to help with power handling and helps give it a heck of a kick. Ill add more pics later im also open to suggestions on Head units and components speakers.

Thanks for looking. And feel free to offer up and tips or advice I know we got a few GP guys around here.
