Re: new here

Thanks 97 eldo. Ppl on here has been very helpful. And I appreciate it. Sorry guys for not updating the thread in a while. I found out what the problem was. It was the name brand of the fuse block I used. The fuse is good. But the plastic and the metal parts that holds the 200 amp fuse were the problem. Before I spend $100 on 1/0 GA wire for my car. My friend came by my house and told me he had the same problem and he told me to try a better brand fuse block. After I installed the new fuse block with the same 200 amp fuse that was used while the plastic was getting melted. I blasted my system for a while and the problem went away. Beckerson1. I have not got to run the big 3 or run a negative to the alt bracket mount bolts. I was really happy to find out buying cheap fuse blocks does make a difference. I will get to it. I want to thank everyone for ur response and trying to help me with that very frustrating problem.

No problem man. Don't rush and take your time. Also don't be afraid to run a negative run from you front battery to one of the alt bracket mounting bolts as well.

Yes 1/0 to a distroblock then 4ga... Keep the 4ga as short as possible. Shorter the better

Ya... Your running 400W per driver for 1600W... Correct?

Running 4ga isn't enough so I would look at running 1/0 power wire from the front to the rear. Also if you haven't done the big three upgrade. Do it with 1/0 as well.

Your getting arching on the fuse block as well (reason you have black burn spots and it smells).

Re-running with 1/0 power wire (don't forget the ground as well), re-doing big 3 with 1/0, should clear this issue right up.

I'd upgrade the wiring to at least 1/0.

Big 3 done?

Ya check all connections at the fuse holder. Make sure there isn't any corrosion on the lugs, fuse, bolts, etc... You can always clean them up

sounds like both to me.

op, are you using the factory charging line from the front? can you take a picture of the fuse box so we can see what that factory line is running through? Its possible there is just too much being drawn through that.

Cause if it a fuse holder its possible you don't have a clean connection. That will cause excessive heat build up.

Re: new here

welcome welcome.

now, onto your problem you mentioned in the shoutbox. Your fusebox is heating up. is that under the hood?

can you outline your entire electrical upgrade setup for me?
