Not that a 4th order bandpass has to sound bad. They don't. In fact if you keep the rear sealed chamber the same size as a sealed box that would give you a Q of .7, it'll end up having a response similar to a sealed box. But with extra output below the ports tuning. (so in this case you want the port tuned to say 60-70Hz for daily). This is much different than the typical small sealed chamber, large ported chamber tuned low method. However I really dislike how those 4th order bandpasses sound. But they sure do get loud (over a narrow range).
Well looks like you will be designing me another 6th in the near future for the jeep this time

Well like I said the 6th worked great. Fallen will design it as he is the one who designed previous one. I am mainly wanting to know which one will get louder and sound good

I believe kingpen on here tried them in both a 6th and a 4th but I'm not 100% certain however he would probably be a good person to ask about them as I do know he has experience with them.

4th order or 6th order???

ok i have had my hdc318's in a 6th order box already it sounded amazing and got loud. i am wanting to know what will perform better the 4th or 6th? i am leaning towards a 6th because of the fact that i know it works. if someone could tell me the good and the bad of each that would be great.
