Re: Sq hds?

So to double output you need to double cone area.
Or double power.

Hds2 600watts
Hds3 1200watts

So possibility....
As long as there specs are correct.
Your wattage is correct.
Your electrical system is correct.

I would be asking what amps. Upgraded alt. Theres alot to ask before promising double the output.

Re: Sq hds?

Before I posted this, when I asked the tech about the HDS in comparison to the SDC 2.5 he said that the sub on the right power should be twice as loud and get a lot lower than the sdc. I really wasn't sure if this was just a marketing ploy or the truth thats why i came to you guys

Re: Sq hds?

well the thing is you can not always find people knowledgeable about the products they sell or rep. the guy was prolly hired off the street and does not know crap. the aq/sq subwoofers not getting low lol that is a joke i had my hdc318's playing decaf music all the time never sounded muddy to me sounded pretty clear tbh. now i do know that my hdc3's had to be broken in for a while before i could beat on them or you could risk ripping the spiders. now i was pushing my 18's with 2 memphis 16-mcd4kw's an they took every bit them amps had. all i can say is give them a try you will never know untill you try your self can not always go off of other peoples opinions.

Re: Sq hds?

And just so im fair and accurate with my comment. I called and asked for the bl number on there 12 and he said he wouldnt have that spec. He said you must be using a box building program. I said yes and he said sorry we dnt have that information. ..... really....

I didnt need it for a box program. I was just compairing subs. What I found odd was all subwoofer companies have there bl numbers posted almost as much as they show there rms.

as for the op question aq/sq are known to not be very sound quality oriented and are preferred to go in a 36-40hz tuned enclosure, thus meaning the lows will suffer. ive heard of people putting them in lower tuned inclosures but have been disappointed.
lol lows will suffer. clearly you haven't used audioque products then. general recommended tuning is 35-37hz. they can play high 20s no problem at that tuning. stiff suspension helps with that.

also about SQ. i've heard double bass rock music being played with 6 18" hdc3's with a 3500.1 on each. they didnt skip a beat.

How loud are they compared to other subs?
Do they get low?

These are my two main questions but more info is gladly accepted. Thinking of buying one but big ? Marks

Re: Sq hds?

I did a lot of research. I was about to buy them....

But I kept hearing a lot of people say they get loud but dnt sound great doing it.

I called them directly and asked for the theil small par. and the tech said he didn't have that info.

Between the feedback / and I couldn't believe that really a subwoofer company wouldn't have something as simple as there specs handy or find them for me.

I had to say no. Not bashing. Just my personal experience from what I found.
