Re: Cxa's new whip

THE TRUCK IS SLOW AS BALLS.

No really, it is. It is the 2.5L i4 qr25de straight out of the sentra, with an extra 1000 lbs tacked on. Whatever gear I think I need to be in to accelerate, I go one lower. It's only 2wd, 4wd was an extra $5k option. That being said, I have a fond appreciation for it's utility and functionality already. I've ordered a bedliner, bought a ramp to load my bikes/snowblowers/local obese folk/etc and am researching ladder racks now for my kayaks and what nots.

It is a bit of a different direction for me, but I really think I'll like it. I already went through a decent snow fall with it and it handled much better than the tc, and I can pull extra cash making deliveries at work and satisfying the craigslisters that need their mattresses moved. I have a ridiculous work ethic, and being able to make some extra cash always makes me happy.

Re: Cxa's new whip

My motorcycle and this are the only ones that were new. I wasn't planning on a new one originally, but the used truck market is tough. I was finding trucks with 50k+ miles for just 2 or 3 thousand less than what I paid new. It's just worth spending a few more bucks and avoiding the maintenance and replacements that always come with a used vehicle.

Re: Cxa's new whip

Kon, it's a fresh 2014. 8 miles when I bought it, 300+ now. I'm not a fan of the quad cabs, the King cab/access can is the way to go.

Ben, staying fairly small. I think I'm actually going to go with the q sealed up. It takes up the same space as the mag ported. It's easy enough to just swap em around.

Burke, it's fairly interesting. The rx8 was a disaster. My reaction was to buy something incredibly reliable, hence the tc. Now that I'm doing more and more outdoor stuff, owning 2 motorcycles, and took a job as the warehouse manager in my tile store, it's just time to get a truck.

Stk, I've had a 03 Corolla, 04 rx8, 05 tc, and now the nissan. I like my jap cars

Re: Cxa's new whip

Lol Chuck, I feel like you get new whips on a regular basis. Im not sure how you went from a RX-8 to a TC to a Nissan truck... That mag on that sundown is gonna sound good in there though. I'd port it.

Re: Cxa's new whip

I actually like the extended cab better than the four door. Clean truck. How many miles?

Nice truck chuck if it was me though I'd take those seats out and wall it.

Re: Cxa's new whip

that they are, my 5 foot tall gf barely got back there. at first i was considering just going all out with the fi, taking out both of them, but i bought a truck for functionality. I'll keep the passenger side seat in with an amp rack under it, and put the sub behind my seat.

Cxa's new whip

Picked up a new truck last week, tc is on it's way out. Just wasn't quite cutting anymore for my outdoor lifestyle.

Here's what we got to work with:

Here's the plan, pretty much recycling what came out of the tc (see that cluster of audio crap in the back):

stock headunit- its got bluetooth, steering wheel controls, and should be reasonable decent. if it doesn't cut it, ill add a 360.2 or something of the like.

diamond hex s600s comps up front.

diamond audio d400.2 on those hex's

no rear fill

si mag 12 in the back, might go ported again with it, though a little smaller this time. 1.75 or so should sound damn fine. sacrificing one of those "seats" in the back isn't much of a loss for me.

sundown saz 1500.1 to power the beast

Modest, but should be a real nice "sql" setup in such a small space.
