Re: Need a set of components, or co axials
Yeah I agree completely I'm hesitant to believe that in a car you'd even be close being able to take advantage of them honestly your talking you'd need to be in a sound proof listing room to utilise them and even then I wouldn't spend the money .... but I would like to here them at least once in my life .... I think if you get on there website they have a home audio setup with them in it

Fawking redonkulous. What's sad is people actually pay that much when you can get just as good buy doing research and piecing it together yourself

Re: Need a set of components, or co axials
You can buy any of them separately here's the crossoverhttp://www.woofersetc.com/p-4317-crossblock-no7-focal-utopia-be-frequency-switch.aspx the tweeters I think are like $1500 or something close to it
Also look at these. I auditioned a pair right next to a 900 doll hair dynamical comp set and while the dnyaudios still beat them out the Kenwood really didn't seem 800 doll hairs cheaper. With that set you would still be able to find a cheap two channel. I always forget about those or I'd have a set myself.

Re: Need a set of components, or co axials
You should be just fine with just the components then ... my friend had 4 12's in a sealed box with just 1 pair of components is his s10 on the same arc amp in that cdt kit and it was good unless he turned it up real loud

Re: Need a set of components, or co axials
If its between the cdt kit with amp or arc on head unit power I'd do the cdt kit those arc comp sets are nice and maybe a little louder then the cdt comp but they really do need some power to push them good so if I was you I'd get that cdt kit and then you'll have a good amp for when and if you want different component speakers .... also leave the 4×6 speakers alone and just run the component setup you'll be happier I think and unless you have a lot of bass from subs the cdt set should have no problem keeping up

That's up to you but I would suggest an amp from the start.

Hmmm, now i'm wondering if i should try them with out the amp, and if i want to have more power, purchase an amp at a later date. decisions decisions!

Re: Need a set of components, or co axials
I've already owned a set and the sound fantastic. Mine where ran off of deck power and sounded great and got louder than stock. Very detailed. Even songs I've listened to for years I heard things I never knew where there before.

Re: Need a set of components, or co axials
That's the exact set of comps I'm getting shipped to my house.look on woofersects ebay. Sometimes its 10 to 20 doll hairs cheaper thru there ebay. I wouldn't hesitate to buy that combo.

Re: Need a set of components, or co axials
Would this be a good combo to purchase? Its about $50 over budget but it comes with an amp thats $100 on woofersetc.com. Or i can just buy the set with out the amp for $169 off Woofersetc
Dont spend the money on the 4x6 and just use that money to a better set of comps. Or use that money on a small two channel to get more power to the comps.

Nice, I like the fact everyone has different brands with different opinions and likes. My wife's Toyota Solaras tweeters have gone out on her stock comp jbl set so I'm thinking of trying 2 of the sets you guys just mentioned.

No harsh highs, I love my hearing lol. Il go with silk dome. Now I got a question. Now that I'm planning on components, do I buy co axials for the dash? I've been told not to worry about the 4x10's in the back, just to worry about my front stage.
Maybe a set up of 4x6's on dash and components or just a set of comps?

I really liked my cdt cl61a comps on head unit power. Just picked up another set and I've never bought the same thing twice so that shows how much I like these comps.

Re: Need a set of components, or co axials
Polk db comps would sound great, as well as kappas. They both do well on low power, but don't have much mid bass, it's the trade off you will have to deal with on just hu power. The sundowns are likely pretty good too, but I'm sure you will find they want a lot more power
