Yes. Off axis will lower the high end response. But it is very install dependent. The best way to figure out what you like is to run the wires and just tape them in different places to see what you like best.

My pwx's didn't like to be crossed low at all when given any decent amount of power. Plan on keeping the pwx's crossed at around 80-125hz if you are going to feed them rated power or more. The silver flutes will not get as loud as the pwx's will but imo they sound a lot better and will have much stronger midbass (at least they do in my application). Either way you go they should have no issues keeping up with your OA's
