Re: Wanting loud midbass

Yes it does make them less "harsh". But that harshness isn't always the tweeters. What's harshest to me is around 3k hz. Its the most sensitive range in human hearing for most people. Being off axis won't fix the 3k. Off axis will roll of the high end but to kill that 3k hiss you have to eq it out or cross over higher.

To my understanding, off axis makes the tweeters less harsh? I'm gonna do what you said and experiment. Thanks.

Is there a big difference between putting your tweeters on axis and off axis?

I love my cdt tw25 tweets. Vifa ring radiators are great also.

Do any of you have a tweeter to recommend? My truck didn't come with components so I gotta install one or else no highs

The silver flutes will not get as loud as the pwx's will but imo they sound a lot better and will have much stronger midbass (at least they do in my application). Either way you go they should have no issues keeping up with your OA's

And as 49konvict said….deadener is your friend!

Re: Wanting loud midbass

I second the Flutes... If you were going dedicated midbass I would say the Exodus Anarchy mids as given the right power/crossover and proper deadened door they will destroy the low end... I run them 2-way and do love them in the 2-way config... But they can move quite the bit and that can mess with the higher freq

Look into the silver flutes. Deadener is your best friend when your trying to get solid mid bass

hmm looks like a good driver. I think I'm gonna go with a 6.5 at first and then if I need more go from there to an 8. I can put a 6.5 in there with an adapter. Do you know any tweeters that are nice?

Wanting loud midbass

So, in about 2 months I will have 2 OA 18s in a 12 cubic foot ported box, running on 2Krms. I want midbass that will just fucqin crank... What do...

My doors can fit 5x7/6x8 speakers. I know I'm not getting anywhere with that. I'm willing to make cuts to fit bigger drivers.

I'm willing to spend about 300$ on both doors for speakers (2 mids 2 tweets). And after that I will put them on an amp and then deaden my doors. I'm looking for suggestions on what I should do... I want it loud and clear, and I want (idk if this is possible) my mid bass to really be noticeable alongside my subs. So what do I do? Do I need to use 8 inch mid drivers? I'm not looking to put dedicated midBASS drivers, I'm only wanting to have midRANGE drivers.

thank you.
