Re: sealed vs. ported

I am leaning towards the 5 15's I just hope it satisfies what I am looking for. it will be nice to do something a little out of the norm for me. I have used ported and a 6th order so we will see how this goes.

Re: sealed vs. ported

they would be about equal in sound actually....but the 15's would have a much wider range and have more sound quality cone area, motor force never underestimate sealed....usually every sealed box i have ever heard or built will peak around 38 to 48hz....sometimes higher depending on the vehicle...o yea and expect some great punch to with sealed

Re: sealed vs. ported

15's sealed will give a flatter response across all frequencies than ported.
and on the same power i would think that the 18's might be louder to the ear at tuning....but i'm far from being one of the brite ones

sealed vs. ported

ok i have talked aboud doing a bunch of subwoofers in my jeep. i have came down to a box that is 13.26 ft^2. i am able to build a simple box that i can fit 5 15's in a sealed box or 2 18's in a ported. if 15's it will be the soundqubed hds315's if 18's will be hdc3's. which subwoofers do you think will be louder to ear. i know it is not a great question just looking for opinions i have never really messed with a sealed box.

amp will be the stetsom 10kd

5 - 15's sealed or 2 - 18's ported?????
