Default System volume not consistent

Hey all,

I'm having an issue where my system would be really loud but if i switch a few tracks, or turn my Car off my system wouldn't be as loud as it should be.. this issue is getting very annoying.... i noticed if i play my system at medium volume for 15 min SOMETIMES it would go back to normal.. If i turn my car off there would be times where it wouldn't play as loud as it should, but next time I turn my car off and on it would go back to normal...

Any ideas??

Thank you.

Also, my lows would be very loud and then it would decrease and the more higher bass notes would become louder.... hopefully i explanation is understood.

Nope, not at all... I can blast my system all day and it wont go into protect, just the loudness issue I was talking about.

Don't think its electrical issue because it would happen at random times even if the volume is set to low.

prior to the autotek amp I had a garbage amp that would get loud without having to crank the stereo up to a higher volume... the autotek amp is much more powerful but I have to crank the volume very loud to get loud sub output

It is hooked up with a Line output converter my good sir... when i got the system hooked up for the FIRST time the shop used cheap wiring.. after blowing through a few amps i realized it was the cheap wiring causing the issue, so i went ahead and upgraded to good wiring (no problems after that), but i didn't upgrade the LOC converter.... could a cheap LOC converter cause this type of issue?

it's possible
could you try and hook up another source to the amp like an mp3 player or such.....just need a cable like this

that will take the line output converter out of the equation and eliminate it as the possible source of the problem

Even higher quality ones?

The LOC converter is hooked up to the CD changer in the trunk and not the speakers, don't know if that helps.

I tried the RCA headphone jack method and the volume was too low to tell if there was a difference.

System update - One of my subs tinsel leads were ripped in half off the terminal, CRAP!
