Default Memphis vs Mobile Spec vs MA

I am looking at doing a full out custom AV install in my Ram this winter.

I am currently looking at 3 different brands, and was looking to get some overall feed back on each.

Memphis

MA Audio

Mobile Spec

memphis has nice products, nice quality, and good customer service. Ive heard good and bad things about MA. they seem to be more of a mediocre brand, although i have owned a few products that were pretty decent. Ive never really heard of mobile spec, so i cant really tell you anything about them. i would personally invest my money in memphis out of those 3.

I currently have a very decent Ma audio amp - HC2502.... a real powerhouse with good control for the sub.... we tested it against a zx1500.1 on a Kicker S12L74 at 2ohms in a custom, ported 2cu.ft box .. it wipes the floor with the Kicker in terms of control and quality an pushes 141db's on the tones (139 on music)...but this an amp made in 1999, I'm sure things have changed from then..and most likely, not for the better... it doesn't play that well real low either - pretty much stops at 40hz...the Kicker goes much lower, but it's real sloppy

hope that helps ...I would go with Memphis btw if i were looking at new stuff

Memphis hands down! Iv messed with all of the above brands.... And let me say mobile spec is at the bottom, that amps are rated at 1 ohm loads will not do it they get very hot! And some times go in to protection and get burned up very quickly... Ma audio isnt that bad, but what are you truly looking to get out of the set up?

My ultimate "goal" is just for looks. I am NOT dragging or anything like that, so over all quality of the sound isn't a HUGE factor, as much as looks.

I went to a local shop the other day, and they quoted me roughly 14,000. Now, that was 4 10" dd subs, Mobile spec amps, Pioneer F900BT head unit, glasses center console with sub box (from cab to back seat), and glassing the amps into the head liner. 4-6 Alpine tv's 7" and 10", Mobile spec components glasses into the doors.

Now, maybe I just under estimated how much this would cost, maybe this is a "decent" price...I don't know.

I'm thinking I should look at a "cheaper" brand such as Kicker, or MTX etc...

any thoughts???

mtx is expensive and mediocre quality. not worth it. kicker is decent, but again, the newest models can be expensive.

why not do some smaller brands?

If you go to SSA forums and look through the brands they sponsor on their website you will find some companies with way higher quality equipment for lower prices. Also if you get that deck go to avic411.com and they have tutorias on how to improve the software and function of the unit.

my brother has a body shop we deal with das and the people from mobile spec(they work together) i personally have 5 mobile spec 1000 watt amps. they are clear and very under rated i also got mobile spec 12s they pound and are only 40 dollars my cost. They are good for a budget but don't make high power equipemnet. They wiring and electrical are great quality also i am 100 percent satisfied with mobile spec. My mobile spec 1000 pushes 2 12L7s to the edge.
