Well, i have owned this amp since May and am Very impressed by it. I have had no problems what so ever ad it pushed my 2 DB Drive PLW15D4's pretty good in my blazer. 2 thumbs way up for me so far.
have you owned a major company's amp yet, ie AQ, sundown, ia, ab, dd, orion, db drive 2k's. you'll notice a major difference in those amps from the PA. believe me i thought 2300rms from the PA A3000db (which is a planet audio design from what i hear) was great...that is until i just hooked up an American Bass VFL-100.1 (1500 rms) and realized that it not only sounds better on the AB but it also is more powerful. PA is cheap Power for people with low budgets. but low budget=low power unless you know someone or can get luck with deals.

yea i thought the kenwoods i had were pretty nice until i bought the AQ2200D it sounded so much better on only one 12 and same amount of Power as i had with 2 of the same 12's i was amazed.

Yeah I own a PA A3000db amp also. I also have an old Xtant1001, and a Zapco Ref750 sitting around. The PA makes the most power, uses an 150 external fuse too. But mine sounds like crap too until I give it the voltage it needs to work properly. My alternator puts out 75 amps in my '86 Mitsubishi Starion, which is not enough to run that amp. I'm getting atleast a 120 amp alternator and upgrading the big 3 also. So to anyone who runs a huge amp on a puny electrical system that comes in most little imports, don't be shocked because the amp sounds like warm piss.

i was running a hifonics brutus 1600 on 2 cvr's at .5 ohm. all done on a 60 amp alternator. autozone battery too. haha. . . .my brutus has two 80 amp fuses, its only 1600 watts? thats more amperage than a 3000 watt amp?

I have the power acoustik stax5500/1D and its bassically the same board on that model. I currently have 2 stax5500's strapped together, pushing 2 18" peavey LO-MAX sub's in a 16cf box tuned to 33 Hz. And I'm very impressed on its output(I still got to get it metered)
My build log will be up soon.
the PA amp has 150-200 amps of fusing but only does 1200-1400 watts... it is all about efficiency...the brutus has 160 amps of fusing because it actually does 1600 rms..simple math...

I actually also have the Hifonics collosus VII(yes old school)I did attempt to try it on the 18's but I seem to get more output from these lightweight amp's.
I will get these amps clamped just to see how much they do strapped @4 ohms.

That Vii amp is 1800 w into a 4 ohm mono or 900 x 2 @ 2 ohms.
doesnt surprise me that 2 of the pa doing 1400 each would outdo it... that is 1000 rms more watts,...
but they are crappy amps ....

For wat I payed for them vs the collosus ($260 for 2 PA amps vs $900 for the hifonics back in 98)I still have wait to see if the $240 was a good investment in the long run.
that HiFonics was made by Zed ( Stephen Mantz ) himself and will outlast just about any amp ever made....
Very true,I will never sell it for the same reason.I had the amp sent to him in 2006 for burnt outputs(shorted out) and still spend $240 plus shipping.
But the difference being outsourcing Still nothing will be same again.

hmm that could have been part of my problem when i was running my ol' hifonics brutus 1500-1600 wrms @ 1ohm to my '05 RE XXX sub.
