Well, I just finished up an a Build and install for a friend. 2 AP 1800 watt 15's, Ap15001d, Boss touchscreen HU, some tweeters, 10 cubic ft, box tuned to around 37 hertz per WinISD Pro Alpha. I've been wanting to her one of these amps, be it the 1500 or the 3001, so it was cool to be able to see some "pudding" in action. Proof's in the pudding... It wangs. The amp is solid; his battery is trash so as soon as he gets a new one in a cpl. days I can tune everything properly. Paid $164 shipped for the amp on Fleabay through VMinovations. 1 year warranty. All smiles and earaches.

No problem. I was shocked at how hard those 15's hit on that amp. It looks so small in person and to someone that doesn't know anything, they would probably think it wasn't worth it's weight in scrap. WRONG that little amp is powerful. The subs are brand new and tight so after break in and the new battery install it ought to really pound. Actually while I was doing some quick tuning the police showed up but by then I had it turned off so they just drove off without saying a word. So obviously one off my neighbors called the popo on me.

i have a question about the amp i am considering getting one for sure but the signal to noise ration is very low its in the 70db range and all other amps are in the 90 to 100 range...is that a problem?

Umm, don't quote me on this but I think a lot of companies LIE about S/N ratio. All in all this amp has gotten solid positive feedback all over the internet which is why I got it for the install I did.

I love that amp. I have one. And i would get another one. had mine for over a year and still going strong. By mistake... I had it wired to just under .5 ohms for about 3months and it wouldn't shut off at normal volumes. pushing it it would and I'm actually glad it would otherwise I wouldnt have noticed I had it wired that low. But if you are interested in getting one get it.. the one thing i like most about it is the variable bass boost frequency. when most amps are set between 40 and 50.
im running that amp right now at the moment...its deffinatly a powerfull little thing..if your running a stock electrical..you might not like it as much..it deffinatly draws Power and lights dim to the point where it gets annoying..thats why im gunna invest in an mb dsc1500
are your subs d2 or d4? I've never had a problem with them at 1 ohm or higher in any Car I've had. even my 93 regal with its 90 amp alternator didn't dim from it. you must have something else going on for that to happen
btw are you really selling that amp for that much? I paid less than that for mine new and I got it from a store and not online....
im fixin to sell my hifonics 1210d and get 1 of these amps ...need more power for the new 18 Q commin

Okay, his subs are broken in. 2 Audiopipe TXX-15's with the amp at 1-ohm. Got his gain set, bass boost OFF. It absolutely slams, nuff said.

great products. I sell them all the time. as close to true power as youll get at this price. i run a 3000.1 on 2 dd9515's and it slams. i just recently hooked up 2 txxbd audiopipe 15's on 2 1500's and it gets loud, really loud. i acuatlly put them in the same setup, 10 cubes at 38 hertz. hope u enjoy your new system and AUDIOPIPE 2 THUMBS UP.
Yeah his get's pretty loud too. Pretty impressed for the money invested for some daily slam!

I can't truly say because I don't know much about the MB Quart amp, but I do know that it does rated power.

my subs are D4..but the dimming is gone..it was a tuning issue...but yeah 185 may be a bit steep..how much did you pay new?
i have one and what i like about it is the wired knob. it is not a base boost knob it is the gain setting. yes gain not base boost.check for your selves you can set the gain on the amp and that will be the limit for the knob meaning set amp gain half way up and the max knob position(all the way up) will be max of set gain on amp which is half gain. i have 2 re se 10's with no base boost on amp or base adjustments on head unit that this amp pushes so well
Just a follow up review. I just talked with the guy I installed the system for and listened to it. It's still going strong as ever. I have his gain set so really he's getting 750 rms per sub. No bass boost at all. The system is still wanging hard and clean. I did have to re-tighten down some of the subwoofer screws but that was it.
The amp was definitely a great purchase. His system slams, daily.

Would you recommend this over a Mb quart dsc 1500.1D. I'm between this two amps.
apples vs oranges...
the DSC will make quite a bit more power than the AP with less impact on the electrical.
it will also sound way better.. totally dif quality of amp w/o doubt...the DSC will **** on the AP lol

i dont like the AP even though i have never played with one but i have played with sevral of the DSC becouse the orginal kept breaking so my team mate got a new one each time 3 of them failed before he got a good one (+ for CS) but not impressed by the product
and as far as electrical when i put the good dsc 1500 in my truck as a temp setup i had voltage drops almost equal to my saz 3500

Yup that is one thing about that amp. It is (not) efficient. I had to install a small extra battery like the one I run because his lights were flashing like a cop car. He's happy though. It's his first real set-up and he's been beating the piss out of those AP 15's since June of last year and everything's holding up fine so far.

i have a re12.1 which uses the same board as the ap1500 an i love it also. have it at .7ohm before rise right now an it takes it like a champ. lights dim though on full tilt but thats expected with complately stock electrical, gonna get a small extra bat soon. but the re is only rated at 1200wrms at 1 ohm so idk why that is maybe just under rate it? or maybe they did some tweaking to board? who knows but i love it none the less.

the sae1200 v1 and the ap1500 share the same board the difference in them is components used to build it and the quality of assembly..
Sundown costs more because they do more..
as for the dsc popping that is very hard to believe...especially that many all in a row..
I smell BS or seriously low Impedance's/user error..horrible electrical etc..
w/o vids it didn't happen lol even maxxsonics haters on CA love the DSC because they are inexpensive, do over their rated power, and have excellent efficiency given the power output..
Eric ran 8 of them strapped at 1 ohm ( .50 per amp...)...never popped a single 1..
